What does "roll over" and "roll under" mean for upgrading sites?
I'm not sure if I get the whole "roll under" and "roll over" on gambling/upgrading sites, especially for higher rolls like 10x and 20x. So, the way I'm thinking of it is: you have a roll over and roll under chance, and the higher the items, the higher the stakes are. So, why not just roll under if you're doing a 20x? That would mean you have a like 95.5 chance of winning. Someone explain this to me, thanks in advance!

I'm not gambling, I'm creating something similar to this on another platform.

I'm still a little confused. So you mean that you'd keep the same chance or... Like say it was a 1x, you'd have a 50-50. Either way it'd be a 50-50, just a preference? Is it the same with high rolls as well? The algorithm I'm using for my program is setup so if it's an under and a high roll you basically win the game.

Are you sure this wasn't virtual pet simulator? "Roll over" sounds awfully similar to what you may tell your dog

Okay I figured it out! Thanks for everyone's help, I just had to check if the random double was smaller than the generated number. All just preference, thanks!

it's not really 50 50, imagine you have a 75% chance betting under is a better idea as you have a 75% instead of a 25% chance

it the number is 50 and u roll it under u have to roll a number that is lower than 50. and then if u roll over it has to be a number over 50
