In game name changing?!

Why is it allowed to change names mid game?
So, on our team, we have cheater with spinbot and it is impossible to kick him because he has some script on which he rapidly changes names, names of other players in the team.

It's easy to spot these people.. Just keep going to "kick" and see which name is changing constantly. Also, it's NOT allowed. It's called cheating for a reason.

He’s talking about someone using a cheat to rapidly change their name

I think he meant the cheaters whose name is CONSTANTLY changing. Seen it quite a few times.

It doesn't, but if the cheater is using the rapid name changing thing you can just keep an eye out for which name is changing. Happens in casual a lot.

kicking him won't do much anyways, you tried to kick him and you probably reported him so you did everything in your power. changing name is steam based and it's often abused by scripts and engines.

You can set your name in csgo w/ a cheat and not have it change on steam lol

You can, but only once and if it fails he can't call it again. It's not like it's a full proof plan. Lol

theres was this guy cheating in compe match and changing names rapidly. i kinda liked the idea of changing names. but u say changing names in game is also not allowed?

Steam gives you a cooldown if you change your name too many times in a short time frame. So if you see someone who's name is changing rapidly it's 100% a cheat.

It use to used to avoid getting kicked 'cuz the players couldn't see avatars, only player names in the kick menu.
