Just curious on what you people would think of this option. In countries like Korea, you need to tag your SSN to your gaming accounts before they let you even play. I'm not saying it should be forced down your throat like in Korea, but it would be nice if it was an option.

Sort of like an upgraded Prime, players who willingly give their SSN can be Verified instead of Prime.

Let's be honest, Prime isn't great. But Verified, hackers get the one account to hack on and that's it, no more Verified access. You can change your phone number or use other people's phones, but SSN? Significantly harder to explain that one, "I need your SSN so I can hack on CSGO." Also, no smurfs.

This would also enable safer trades. Limit your trades to Verified traders only, it'll be pretty unlikely to get scammed. Valve knows basically everything like their name, address, etc. If you get scammed, Valve can most likely get you your money back as they can literally just sue the player and take it out of their paychecks if they have to. If the scammer has no money and no job, or if scamming is their job, Valve can just ban their SSN from Steam altogether.
