Why is it called 'catwalk'?
I have always been curious as to why a specific part of some competitive maps(such as d2 or mirage) is called 'catwalk'/'cat'.Usually callouts on the maps are self explanatory however i dont see any relation to that term.Anyone got any ideas?

It's the straight stage thing that models walk on.

cat·walk
ˈkatˌwôk/Submit
noun
1.
a platform extending into an auditorium, along which models walk to display clothes in fashion shows; a runway.
2.
a narrow walkway or open bridge, especially in an industrial installation.

Pretty self explanatory

Because it looks like one. It's a straight, narrow and open path
The meaning of the word explains it. There are much stranger callouts.
