*Warning to those using skin changer*

So I stopped playing cs for a while and lost all enthusiasm to play it until I saw this skin changer app which essentially let's you have any skin you want but only you can see as it's a client side app. Decided to do it with no worries as I didn't really care if I got vac'd since I wasn't playing cs. Used it for a few days and it was fine however today I decided to change my gloves as previously I was just using the regular ones. Also, I forgot to eject the usb from my pc after starting cs go so potentionally that could be the reasosn too however this isn't the first time I've forgotten to eject the usb. Anyhow, in the same game that I changed my gloves, I was booted from the game and banned from the server and according the steam it was an overwatch ban --- that is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ since I haven't ever used hacks on cs go (unless you count skin changer as a hack lmao). And if you're wondering what my other ban is for, it's for making myself 10th prestige in MW2 since I already had 50days playtime on xbox and didn't feel like re-leveling up.

Thankfully I wasn't playing cs long enough to actually care about this vac however thought I'd warn the rest of you. So, for those of you who are looking to use skin changer or are using it, try and avoid changing your gloves and be sure to remember to eject the usb! Although I feel fairly certain it was the gloves that did it since they were changing colour in game and going invisible at points.

Try to think of it like this-> Server expects your client to give it a certain kind of handshake -Your client gives it a custom handshake it doesn't recognize -> Server decides to send your information to VAC -> VAC detects it as a modified client

You agreed when you bought CSGO to the EULA/SSA that you would play the game as intended. You are breaking the rules, thus you should expect a ban at SOME point. Just because it wasn't detected doesn't mean its OK.

You should not have been modding your client in the first place. Your title should be "Warning to other players: Don't mod your CSGO"

There's plenty of other games you can customize. I don't know of any developers that really allow for assets/mods in competitive/multiplayer games anymore... its just too risky, and the fine line between benign cosmetic hack and RAGE AIMBOT PEW PEW hacks is very hard to define.

VAC can't tell WHAT you're doing, it just knows that you're doing something you're not supposed to, which in reality is cheating. Cheating gets you banned, no matter how "harmless" or otherwise.

You don't need a YouTuber or Steam forum post to tell you about this.

In my opinion, with the money valve is already making from people buying/selling skins, skin changer is absolutely ok to use morally. If someone wants to waste hundreds if not thousands on real skins well that's their choice. I'd had enough of cs go so decided to try it, it was fun and I didn't at the time and still don't care that I've been vac'd. Just warning others regarding the matter.

If others are so dumb to believe that they can mod their game client and then weasel their way out of it through word play such as you're trying to do, then they deserve a ban too.

You're making a completely different point here. I am not another company for one thing, also, I am not stealing valves profits. Of course if another COMPANY (not individual) were my stealing content from my company I'd be annoyed.
