If I had to choose between UMP45 + utility and just a Famas I'd take the former and play close quarters. But if I had the money and wanted a budget M4 I'd take the Famas. It's an okay rifle for what it is, works okay long range.

Don't bother learning the recoil pattern, just taptaptap adadad taptaptap. Or pull down and pray, half of the time it works all the time
