Voice chat in lobby not working

So when I start a lobby, my voice chat just randomly doesn't work and then works fine later on. Anyone knows what's the deal with that?

I have the fix. Its either one of the two

1. I went from windows 7 to windows 10
2. went to library selected cs go local files and validated integrity of game files. restarted game and verified again. Then restarted again and verified again. This time instead of having two files be weird/off/not validated, now its only one. had something to do with DirectX for windows.

Opinion

I believe the upgrade to windows 10 and the files being validated for the Directx gave me lobby chat back.

I had the issue prior and it fixed on its own but this last time it went months and months. Im glad to have lobby chat back. Here is the data. When i had windows 7 I also did "validated integrity of game files" and it didnt work. I think the windows 10 and the validated integrity of game files did the trick. Possibility it was just the windows 10 though. After upgrading to windows 10 it validated differently.

It had to have been Windows 10 because now i only have 1 file not validated instead of two.

If already on windows 10, id try to update the Windows 10. Worth a try

Lobby chat comes back and you can tell because when you press the talk button in lobby you see the talk logo next to profile picture. Good luck everyone on getting lobby chat back! Feels great

Thank you for your reply! I no longer play CSGO or care enough to test this out myself, but hopefully someone out there will find it helpful after all this time, over 2 years, I'd say.

you have to set it clean, eg bind "ALT" "+ voicerecord" and have it set in the settings in the game - press and talk. The sound will only be heard when you say something!

I wrote a great answer 2 replies above but I solved the answer to the thread.

Csgo's voice chat is not that great compared to clarity of discord. In LOBBY chat, it is more terrible than in-GAME chat. Super terrible!!!

In-game and lobby chat is two different things.

ANSWER: To get LOBBY chat to work. MOVE mic close to mouth and press push to talk button. You'll see the mic logo appear next to name in lobby. LOGO will blink on and off depending how close to mouth it is. Dont forget. Lobby chat is terrible. It will blink and cut out if having this problem. Depending on how mic is held. Stare at the LOGO to insure working.
