How does team damage from molotovs work?

Before I begin, this is simply a post of my trying to figure out how the team damage from molotovs work- I'll try my hardest not to let any salt seep through. Also, this is not an instant spur from being kicked- I was just discussing team damage, kicking and other, as we deem "critical game issues".

All the recent matches I've been kicked from in the past few weeks or so have been down to molotovs- mainly, idiots running into the molotovs but a few just people running around in the way, so I end up having my molotov go no where near where I was originally planning.

I really want to know how the team damage from these things work because I'm supposedly dealing values such as "22-12" and then getting kicked.

Is it based on the damage the molotov deals or actual "hits"?

I've witnessed people run in each other's molotovs, die at least 2 times and neither gets kicked, with no previous incidents such as team damage, most of the time, like me.

I'm perplexed as to why these stupid entities kick you instantly and why minor damage even kicks you, but that's besides the point.

Someone tell me how not to get kicked for molotovs because at this point they seem like such a waste of a utility if all they're going to do is get me kicked and deal (against an enemy) I quote:

"52-22" - from a recent comp on inferno, ironically enough.

If molotov kicking is based on "hits" and not "team damage" (as quoted in the actual kick), why is it that way? You deal high amounts of "hits" in seconds, so surely walking in someone's molotov for less than a second, shouldn't get them kicked.

Probably going to get *flamed* for this because 90% of the CSGO community are just literal idiots that just blame everything wrong with this game on the OP/player, but hey-ho!

You get kicked when you do 300 damage (3 teammate kill) so they need to die 3 time in your fire, wich is dumb. It also happened to me, got banned for 7 day

This happened 3 days ago, cast your mind to inferno.

One guy graveyard, others else where, we're pushing and trying to get rid of that guy.
I molotov graveyard, deal some damage and he gets sprayed- fair enough.
Tard on my team that's been griefing the whole game runs straight away into my molotov, bomb in hand, and gets me kicked. How is that my fault? "Just report the griefer" you'd probably respond, and I don't care about ridding them, as that's not happening- I care more about protecting myself against them.

Or simply about a month back on Nuke- rushing B, I attempt to bounch my molotov off a wall's edge behind the wall on our right, trying to burn an enemy. Instead of that happening, a teammate rushes in, mac10 in hand causing my molotov to hit him and just burn us all, getting me a ban.

The threshold is 300 team damage, IIRC. But you can be kicked before that for certain other things (3 kills, damage at start of round, etc).

I burned 2 of my teammates once because the freeze time right at the end of half prevents you from moving your crosshair, but apparently not from releasing a primed molly.

Just got a 30 minute ban cause a teammate was going for all my molotovs, never got to kill him but everytime a threw a molotov he went there, and I told him "Be careful if u rush my molotov again i'll get kicked" he said "It's ok, im sorry" and then he did it again. That's just trolling, and he was doing it with a friend to make other people be banned, valve pls fix

before anyone goes "learn to throw ur molotovs" i was playing inferno and my teammate was rushing windows molotovs as we were terrorists.

If hes obviously running to your molotovs to get you kicked then why did you keep on throwing them? Id just avoid using molotovs if theyre causing you this much issue to the point where youre on the forums talking about it. I never have these issues.

Sucks cause sometimes teammates will walk into your molotovs on pupose.

Molotovs should be either removed from team damage entirely or somehow smart-counted, otherwise deranged temmates basically prevent from using these ;<
