Best RAM mhz for ryzen 5 2600 ( csgo )
Hello,

My PC : ryzen 5 2600 + rx 570 8gb + 16gb (2x8) RAM 2666mhz - MB -ASUS PRIME B450M-K - AMD B450

My question is, if slow RAM mhz can slow down my processor ? Somewhere I read that for a ryzen 5 is not good to have
RAM mhz below 3000. Because then it doesn't work as it should.

Because in games like csgo, apex, fornite, pubg... i have problem with FPS, in csgo fps dropping from 300 to 140 ( still good i think ) but when fps going it feels like micro stuttering, not hard but its not smooth like before. When i watching streaming some csgo pro player, they have same fps drops but without stuttering and game is still smooth...

- Benchmark https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/16859637

I don't understand why the new computer works like this. I have potato before and works better...

I tried to play with msi afterburner but I didn't see any of the statistics going wrong (CPU temperature max 60, GPU temperature max 70)

Someone wrote to me that, according to the benchmark, I only set 1333mhz. But in bios I have manually set 2666mhz. i dont have DOCP profile in bios, I tried to update bios with the latest updates but still nothing. but i have set 2666mhz, i see it in the administrator that i have 2666mhz.

Do you think its slow ram speed problem ? I don't know if I should try to overclock RAM, I've never done it and I don't know if it's the problem, because there's nothing else I can think of.

Thank you :-)

there arent much difference between 2666mhz and 3000mhz to the point where you wouldn't notice the difference, stick with the 2666mhz and save money

threre is a difference between dual rank and single rank 2666mhz rams but it also depends on your board on whats the highest clockspeed for rams on it are

found the list of supported ram and other modules and thier max clock speed/size ofc they might run higher but they dont need to https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/PRIME-B450M-K/HelpDesk_QVL/

afaik the max supported ram speed is 2933(or something like that). you can try via bios/uefi to increase the mhz rate with the multipier but watch beforehand a tutorial in how to oc.
another idea wich is probably dumb is ocing the northbridge (but due the 450 chipset being relativley new it shouldnt give any stong performance boost)

thats normal my rams are 800mhz ddr2 rams and they work within a 322-400mhz range

I used to be using a single 8gb ddr4 stick at 2133 on an I7, but it was a single stick so it couldn’t use the advantage of dual processing. The speed shouldn’t matter tooo much (and I say this on an intel build so it may vary) but if u are using a fast ram with large sizes it may be ur processor instead of ram

just saw that the cas is 19-19-19-43:csgohelmet:
however they do support dual channel

I'm trying to find a problem, but I don't understand much, so I'll be glad for any advice. Thank you guys :) :D

Please stop before you talk any more ♥♥♥♥.

The ram is ddr, that means double data rate, so 2666 ram is 1333x2, your ram does not operate within a 400mhz range stfu.

Op, your issue is nothing to do with a minor increase in ram clock which would yield 2 FPS tops.....

Someone sent me this :

As said, your effective RAM speed is 2666MHz. About how it affects performance, you could check the charts included in this article: https://www.legitreviews.com/ddr4-memory-scaling-performance-with-ryzen-7-2700x-on-the-amd-x470-platform_205154

With a 2700X and a GTX1080 Ti, going from 2666MHz to 3200MHz means a 10% increase on average FPS on Far Cry 5. I don't know if you would see the same kind of improvement with your system though, because the RX 570 is not as powerful and it's not going to max out the Ryzen 2600.

try benchmark your system with cpu-z it will not only show the modules installed but also all clcokspeeds and voltage. maybe i find something odd

yeah but it seems to me that anything works fine. you can let msi afterburner show your ram usage in the "überwachungs" menu left of the ocd menu to see the usage

anything looks normal but i saw that you wrote that you have microstuttering. its happening quiet often since the new updates rolled out. even i have stuttering (my internet connection is fine and no fps drop below 100)
