In 1.6 80% of all weapons were fun weapons. Any smg beside mp5, any pistol beside usp/glock/deagle, the old heavy rifle, autosnipers, all shotguns, ...
In CSGO nearly all weapons are viable beside few. M249 is one of them. I mean, it oneshot headshots and does a lot of damage so it's even viable. Hust the price isn't. That weapon for 2-2.5k and some people would actually play it I guess.
So. In conclusion cs always had fun weapons and it's nothing bad.
