Bitskins advice? How can I tell apart a safe transaction from a scam?
Saving up some money, but I have enough money to buy one skin right now. New to skins and trading as well. Anyways, I have seen lots of posts and comments across a few CSGO discussion forums and they say to be careful with buying from Bitskins and some say there is a scam going on but theres a video out there that teaches you how to avoid it, I haven't found it yet though. Im contemplating on whether to buy from Bitskins or just buy on the steam market.

I consider buying from the Steam Market more than I do buying from Bitskins. I always had a feeling that buying items like skins from discount sites are a bad idea since most of them are disreputable, but on reddit lots say buying from Bitskins is common since its safe.

BitSkins is like, THE site for selling skins. I recommend it, better prices since it avoids the 15% Steam tax.

Yeah but even then, If I were to buy from there I would probably decrease the discount percentage by like 5-8 percent from the cheapest option, in other words the offers with the "instantly Withdrawable" tag.

Some people scam by using bitskins as 3rd option..

Some of trader may ask for your Items first then they would buy the skins at bitskins and showing you that he have alot $ on bitskins..

But don't be fooled~
Don't do the trade as gift..

Just trade if they have the Items ~
Or just do "Trading" Things through the Trading Sub-Forum on Steam Community Disscusions ~
√ Make sure that you do those trade with steam Trade
√ Dont tap any suspicious Links
√ Be carefull with some sites ,sometimes scammer put malicous to steal your Steam Web API
So they will know your trade history and sending a same trade offers (Clone Trade offer) and your Items would be sended to a wrong people (Fake acc) as they tricked you

Yes, there's a bitskins tax but still better than the market.

How do third party steam transactions work? I've only ever traded to one from of my own accounts to another of my own. I've traded with Card Bots once, but i've forgotten. How do they work, I really need to know before I buy anything from a third party.

You buy it, they send it over from a bot
Easiest way not to get fake bot scammed: Make sure BOT JOIN DATE is same between the one said on bitskins and the trade window
