Hardware IP bans means that a person will no be allowed to play the game ever again in his PC. They only way is either by having mutiple PCs or if they buy a new one. And maybe of course, if some hacker genious have the means to unlock his own IP. I doubt people would be buying entire new PCS a month just for cheating in a single game.
But even if it is only a network IP ban, the person still needs to use softwares and a bunch of other things in order to bypass the IP ban. Yes, there are plenty of ways to mask your true network IP and temporary change you IP andress. But there is a also a fixed IP that cannot be changed for whatsoever by no means.
https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/search/?q=HARDWARE+BANS
IP andress is your network ID. By hardware IP I meant to say computer ID. But It doesn't matter if I missused the terminology, the point is still the same.
and that is a part of the vac system that needs to be fixed really fast ..
Because the system can set you back if you play with a cheater on your team and win the matchs, but if you lose the match because the enemy team was cheating you wont get your loses back at all .. and that is totally wrong !
1. If you lose to a team that had cheaters, your team should get the win 16 - 0 and max point for it !
2. if you play with a cheater on your team you should get a setback for it, just as it is now !
3. if you have lost any ranks do to cheating, you should have it all back !
4. if you report a cheater and are correct you should get a free item etc: knife, gloves, weapons, armor and so on .. the more successfull the better items drops .. Call the item set for Overwatch rewards or some like that..
that will help clean out the cheaters and make a more happy community with less anoy´d players !
People who are caught cheating in Apex Legends are getting their hardware banned which means they can't create a new account for Apex and play again.
It's a pretty hardcore ban, but with Apex Legends being the hottest game on the market right now, Respawn need to handle cheaters seriously if they want to keep legit gamers happy.
The ban, apparently, is no longer just on the cheater’s account.
Respawn is reportedly issuing permanent hardware bans, so the cheaters who create new accounts on their PCs are getting banned almost immediately.
The screenshot in the opening post of the aforementioned thread on the Apex Legends sub-Reddit revealed a cheater who has tried nearly everything, including changing the MAC address, reformatting, and partitioning the hard drives of the PC, all to no avail.
There still appears to be a limited number of ways for players who received permanent hardware bans to get back into the game, including buying a whole new PC.
That seems like a pretty bad deal just to play one game, but it goes to show that cheaters never prosper.
Apex Legends players who choose to play the game the correct way, meanwhile, are not sympathetic to the plight of cheaters, even ones that claim that they will no longer use cheating software.
With the permanent hardware bans, Respawn is raising the bar for other developers in addressing the issue of cheating in online multiplayer games.
While Epic Games is notoriously unable to fight against cheating in rival Battle Royale shooter Fortnite, Respawn is making sure that cheaters do not ruin the Apex Legends experience & so should Valve do with CS:GO to get it cheater free again ..
Maybe Valve should hold the world cup major competitions instead together with Esea, ESL, Faceit and more ?
So the whole compettive arena is build into the game engine together with a anticheat system with a build in scanner, this will allso drag more players into the game to play competitive at higher levels, because not all wants to download all kind of anticheat engines here and there, where some of them really ruins some part of your machine, so your cooling and such dont work xD
this is what makes zero sense
ban cheaters instantly keeps them out of the game which is the entire point of anti-cheat faster you kick cheaters the more trusting and fun the game can stay to be
keeping cheaters for 2 weeks is either company are bad coders or shows they cant figure out how to stop it
i rather cheaters get kicked instantly and have valve constantly adjust anti-cheat to keep them out as they just keep making new cheating accounts or valve perma-bans anyone caught cheating from making new accounts or being able to use steam ever again
over seeing if the other team is willing to votekick them from the server which they never do because thats the only way teams can win games anymore with installed hacks or using discord to cheat telling their friends where they are
and wait 2 weeks for vac to catch them before they make a new cheating account
valve is the only company who is the worst when it comes to dealing with convicted cheaters
The delay is not to stop people from cheating. It is to delay the development and testing of new cheats.
For example:
Cheat is developed.
Cheat is tested.
Cheat is detected instantly.
Change it up.
Test it again.
Repeat until it isn't detected.
Result: quick to develop and test and then launch product to cheaters that won't get banned.
Or
Cheat is developed.
Cheat is tested.
wait to find out if the cheat is actually detected.
Cheat is detected.
change it up.
Test again.
wait again.
No ban after X amount of time.
Launch cheat.
Result: slow to develop and test and then launch product to cheaters that could still get detected depending on if the cheatdev did a good job or not.
Again, they're thinking longterm
So you'd rather have more cheaters in the game. Alright gotcha.
So the next question is, how do you suggest that they keep people from creating a new account or to be able to use Steam again.
Do you think it is fair to block someones access to Steam completely because they cheated in one game? You do know that CSGO isn't the only game on this platform, right?
Votekicking cheaters isn't a viable solution if you want the cheaters banned anyway. So I can't really say that is a very bright suggestion.
Using Discord to cheat by giving information? That isn't cheating, that is communicating. You should try it some time. I would even argue that it is vitally important in a competitive scene.
But hey! I'd love to see some actual, viable and thought through suggestions on how Valve should do it since you aren't all that satisified with how they do it.
A comprehensive list with Pro's and Con's would be appreciated. Let's see how many holes us regular users can poke in it.
community is happy to have cheaters removed
cheaters stay banned and cant annoy anymore
pretty simple really
I think that is the first thing you've said that is accurate.
Cheats are already rewarded with permanent bans.
"Pretty simple"? You've provided nothing of actual value on how to sort out the issues you're presenting.
Also, VAC as well as Overwatch, ban the account...not the person.
