suddenly low fps with very good pc
specs:
i7 8700k
rtx 2080
16gb ram
windows 10

settings:
1280x960 stretched
everything low/disabled
no launch options except -novid

When i built my new pc I was getting just fine fps on csgo, but since a week I have been getting under 80 fps on ffa community servers. On MM matches I get around 150-200 which is very playable but still low considering the system that I own. I have looked at a lot of videos online on how to configure windows and csgo to get more fps but none of them have seemed to help. Maybe someone knows what the problem is on here?

Thank you.

Remove the cs:go profile from amd radeon gpu software thingy.
Set everything to off/low/performance in the default profile there.
For CS:GO use launch options:
-d3d9ex +mat_queue_mode 2

Have you checked temperatures? Even the 150-200 you were getting before is very low, my GTX 1060 laptop gets almost double that.

He's using NVidia, not AMD.

-d3d9ex is not needed. It's default now.

OP, are you using GeForce Experience and its Optimize feature?

no i update my drivers when I have to manually off of the nvidia website

yes i thought this might be the case because when im in a lobby in cs, the gpu usage is about 1.5% and my cpu usage is about 3.5%

Unless you set a launch option or use a custom config, you need to enter the command every time you launch the game (and you might forget).

yes i know but like i said, theres no point in setting unlimited fps because it doesnt even reach the default 300. And this hasnt been happening ever since i built the pc. It's only been happening since 1-2 weeks

Just try +fps_max 999 +fps_max_menu 999 as launch options. Not going to hurt to try it.

did not work... any other ideas?

This is only happening in cs btw, every other game i have the same fps as before

not really but it sort of got better over time. Your best bet is to use nvidia control panel and change settings there
