msi RTX 2070 Gaming Z = 120 fps max pls help
I recently got a msi RTX 2070 Gaming Z for my computer, I tried it on every game and it preformed great, but then i tried it on my favorite game,Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. i saw max 120 fps, I thought "ok maybe its being limited" I tried all the comands in the console couldn't get it to get like playable numbers. I accepted the flaw and tried to play on this number. 1st game The game would get 150 fps, If i looked into a corner. But every where else it would be between 80 and 120, if your lucky 140. But every time a round ends it would go 1 fps for around a second.
I tried a bunch of youtube tutorials for better fps, nothing worked.

MY SPECS:
i7 7700 non k @4
Rtx 2070 gaming z
32 GB ddr4 ram
air cooled
500 watt power supply

I think there is somthing with the new Csgo update because I am having the same issue with my gpu. I went from 200 fps to now maybe 80. I believe it's a bug so I think we just have to wait for a new update.

500 wat power supply maybe your system is underpowered

I recommend 850 minimum and optimal over 1000 just in case your components are struggling and also its better to have more than you need to avoid red lining your power supply which can blow up!

225 watts that card wants by itself...that's almost half your PSU...

A 500watts power supply is supposed to be plenty.
(I have an Overclocked 8700k (5Ghz stable) + 1080ti FTW3 with a Corsair RM650x that is overkill for my system)

850-1000watts power supplies are for people running SLI cards.
the load wattage of your system is 374 W and the recommended PSU is 450W

now. There still might be a problem with your PSU if you cheaped out on it and got some chinese off brand ♥♥♥♥ that doesn't deliver the advertised wattage.

is your PSU 80+ certified? (80+ bronze/silver/gold)
is it a name brand one?

I have the PSU that came with my PC because 2 years ago I didn't know how to build one. but i checked and its a 80+ bronze and its made by company called Liteon (they're from Taiwan, but so is msi so I'm not really worried)

Not when the GPU wants half that all to itself. Then the CPU is 50+ Watts, motherboard is probably 100 Watts...that leaves nothing for accessories and drives which puts him over 80%. PSU efficiency ruined.

you're fine then. Try reinstalling both steam and CSGO.
My beater system I built for work (i7 4790 + RX480 8G) gets 160-200 Fps in CS.

what are your launch option? config?

put up or shut up.
You got numbers to prove what you say?
No, you just assume.

He has an 80+ bronze Liteon, those things are already not good with stability. Running it over 80% capacity is bad.

Even at 100% TDP on that 7700 and with 10 sata 7200rpm drives running at full speed, this system would draw 500 at peak. but I'm gonna go on a limb and assume timmy over here has maybe 1 or 2 1tb drives and an ssd.

this is a low tier system and suggesting anything above 550 watts just proves your blatant ignorance on the subject.

poop 4 AGO 2019 a las 17:05
10 sata drives is 200 Watts fool. His system would die in a fire if he had that.

lets just settle down here. lets do some math. lets say the gpu is 225 watts , I know the cpu can do around 65 watts. and we say the mother board is around 100 watts

225
100
+ 65
------------
390 watts
That's more than 100 watts then the limit so unless i'm missing something that is like 90+ watts
i don't Think its the problem
