[Solved] "Pure server: file [GAME]\pak01_016.vpk does not match the server's file" and high ping

Hi everyone,

I've owned CS:GO for about 2 years now and never had any problems.. until a few days ago.

I got back into playing CS:GO after not playing it for some time and got disconnected a few seconds into a match, followed up with this error message:"Pure server: file [GAME]\pak01_016.vpk does not match the server's file."

I then deleted this specific file and went to verify my game files and started the game again, hoping this would have fixed the error giving file. But I kept getting this error, just a different pak file nummer everytime.... And everytime I don't get this error or before getting the error my ping is somewhere flying between 200 and 600... which makes it pretty unplayable.

I've also reinstalled CS:GO but it didn't change anything either.
As far as I know I don't have any new programmes or virus scanners that I didn't have before that could be causing the problem. (only got Navicat and TortoiseSVN for work, but they don't run in the backround or something) And I checked my 8 GB DDR4 RAM with CPU-Z and it seems to be fine...

If anyone could give me tips or could help me fix this problem then that would be very much appreciated! :)

Yeah this happened to me a few days ago a few times, but verifying the files seemed to fix it. No idea how the files keep needing to be verified though??

Try setting the file read only and see if it works. Dumb fix but it worked for some people

Try setting the file read only and see if it works. Dumb fix but it worked for some people

Do this after verifying game files.

Yeah we tried verifying, and it did "fix" the file in question. But as you said, it kept needing to be verified making the game get the error even after verifying.
It's also a different pak every time she gets the error, which doesn't help trying to fix it that way either.

It sucks that it didn't work, i had this problem along time ago and verifying the files worked.

The problem was gone after using a Lan ethernet cable! Now I just need to get one to my room XD

So it was a wireless problem. Could be a problem with the wireless driver or a problem with the router not having the right wireless settings .Glad you managed to fixed it tho!
