CSGO won't save my Crosshair settings.
Hi, I'm editing my Crosshair style in the console, it changes, but in the next match it's back to style 1.

go to croshz crasshair generator v3
Dont use console to change your crosshairs as console is limited, going into settings manually will do it permanantly if not (last a whole season) this goes for all settings although doing it in console will be limited for a match or two- I ran into this error as well- probably because Console resets anyways, so yeah.

Your config is probably read-only.

I have the same problem with the fps_max setting. It always returns to the old value.

My config is not read only.

Put your preferred settings in an autoexec.cfg file.
Ok i'll try that. I never made an autoexec before because CS accepted all my other changes i wrote in the console permanently (sens, crosshair, volume). It's just that one command i know of for me that always returns. Weird.

I'm having the same issue, the only fix I can think of is changing your crosshair in console before entering a death match server.
It seems like csgo is not saving the changes you make in console to the config file. So the only workaround I have been using is having the config file open while I mess with the changes in a DM and then saving them directly in the config file. This saves the changes permanently.

remember to click save in the config file ....

to store changes you made in the console into the config.cfg file.

What went wrong now that this is now necessary? Never had to use a command like this before, it was done automatically previously.

Autoexec.cfg works.

Easier to just go and change the existing value in the config file. Plus many peoples autoexec for some reason wont autoexec on startup even though the launch options are correct.

Autoexec.cfg is more reliable in the long run. You can reproduce all of your settings without hassle when using one. I constantly change/rebuild PCs and accounts so having this file is great. I just copy it into my CFG folder and all of my preferred options are configured without needing to manually set them. Highly recommended.

Yes true. Another advantage is you have a clean config.cfg.

unlucky for me, my launch options dont work correctly and it wont auto execute and sometimes i forget. so changes like my crosshair that i change regularly i would not put in my autoexec file. But i want my console to work correctly again .

Regardless of where i save the stuff i change constantly, i would like the console to work like it used to.
yes, but its the same problem for more than one person.
