What are you expecting? Do you think there has been ever done any research into whether a 24" screen at 70cm is better than a 27" screen at 1 meters?
If all the best players in the world use the same screensize there is a reason for this. They don't use things solely because they like them, they use them because they have the best odds at winning. Nobody likes to watch 1280x720 all-low gameplay, yet it is what they have to stare at for 8 hours a day because it gives them an edge over people with normal HD settings.
At the moment I have a 27" 240Hz Acer monitor and I am getting 400 to 500 fps on my system stable (and capped to 500).
My next monitor will be this:

They will also have it in 25" I think, based on the only site listed it is £282 before taxes.
