its good to buy on pistol rounds, I guess if you're feeling weird then don't buy helmet on rifle round. if you get shot through a wall though the damage will be increased if you don't have armor for your head

If the opposing team has a steady usage of AK's and awps, buying a helmet is a waste of money and a terrible economic decision because you can get one taped with a headshot from both weapons with a helmet. Save that money for a flash or smoke.
