Discord making games such as CS:GO lag.

Hello!
So I've got this problem, CS:GO and many other programs on my PC is starting to lag while having discord on, I've only noticed it when I'm inside a voice channel. Both my cursor (outside of CS:GO) and the game lags, usually spikes. When it lags the most, or I'm tabbing in and out from CS:GO, I can't hear any of my teammates in discord.

I really need help, this is something that has occured recently.
I've been noticing it more and more after I installed Razer Synapse, since I got a Razer Kraken USB for christmas, but I doubt that is the problem.

EDIT: I doubt my specs won't do any difference, since I haven't changed hardware since the problem occured, but here they are.

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6950
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16-17 GHz
RAM: 5GB DDR2

Those are the main thingy, my computer is fairly cooled with a good power supply that is way too newspec than my other things.

EDIT 2: I failed to mention that I did turn off discord's overlay and that fixed some of the problems, but still worse than playing without having discord on, I also turned off the setting that uses the computers graphics to boost the looks of discord.

Discord (Canary, at least) screws with your games. I don't know how or why, but it does. Nioh crashes after 15m~ and csgo gets mad fps drops.

Razer Synapse has historically screwed with csgo, you should have it closed when you play.

if you have discord overlay turned on don't turn it off i had the same problem

Damn, that piece of software is the only thing that keeps this headset from being complete utter ♥♥♥♥♥! Even with Razer Synapse on, the headset's quality is really bad, only thing that makes any real difference is that they look awesome and it's branded.

I used to use skype quite a lot, but it uses a lot more brandwith and stuff than discord, also doesn't have all of the features that discord has.

turn off discord in the background then boot it up when ur done playing, but you can use it in the web in the steam overlay since the overlay doesn't really make a big fps drop

Turn off Hardware Acceleration.

Discord - Settings - Appearance - Advanced (scroll down to bottom) - Hardware Acceleration - Off.

Having no problems here honestly. I keep my overlay on and it works fine in game , no frame rates issue. Which res do you play csgo in??

Close Discord > open csgo > Open steam overlay > open web browser > open discord on web > login with your account > just play and dont close the web.
You gotta do that everytime you want to play with discord
I have tried it many times and it doesnt effect my fps.

I think your cpu is not enough, you should upgrade, your game might use around 90% cpu, so discord doesen't have a lot, so it takes from CSGO, that means
CSGO=90%
Discord=20% it wont work, upgrade your cpu
Or try to get GPU to 100% all the time
If u get to 100%, try more, until your cpu would use at least 70% only and Gpu 100%
