How to join running match/existing lobby?

I started a lobby and invited my friends. We played a few maps and at some point the game of a lobby member crashed.
How can my friend rejoin the running game?

I didn't find an option to invite him and he has no option to join my game in the friends list.
Steam console and "connect ip" doesn't work either.

Yes in "Practive with bots" and "Casual". Didn't try in "Competitive"

When you are playing casual you cannot invite him? And he cannot join you when right clicking on you in the friends list and press join? The option is not available, or not working? The only thing I can think of is that you are hiding your game activity so he does not see you in game.

For local servers you setup I think it is not possible to just randomly join unless you were in the lobby once it was launched.

The option is not available when he clicks on me in the friend list when i'm in an active match with bots.
