It already is... it won't be some big 20gb update that changes everything... the source 2 updates are those small not listed 50mb small updates we get...
That's the dumbest thing I've read so far. You cannot completely overhaul a game and port it to a new engine in 50mb increments, you fool. And it's not 50mb, it's barely 20mb every month which fixes some dumb server bug or clipping issues with the maps.On Cache you can even die and drop a rifle on forklift between the cabin and the fork and enemy won't be able to pick it up.

Stupid small bugs like that are still in the game and being patched every once in a while, along with new workshop materials, tweaks and new skins. Smaller patches than that are just an update to the CS:GO blog post on the front page.

That's what those small updates are, they're insignificant and have nothing to do with actually upgrading the game to a state it deserves to be in. When CS:GO gets a new engine, if it ever does, you will definitely notice it because it will be a huge patch. But like I said, IF that ever happens (and I'm starting to doubt that since they already broke their "end of 2017" promise).
seems like you don't know what a modular build engine is.
its entire possible to update only small parts to source2.
even valve said that they don't update it at once.

and they didn't promised it will come in 2017. when you have a valve source for the PROMISE than post it please. and please not the "we priorities to replace UI in 2017"

Just to add to your comment, with relevant quote.

"Source 2 is a bunch of system rewrites. For CSGO, we evaluate these new systems on their individual merits. Some CSGO rework is in progress, such as the UI that utilizes parts of Source 2. Other systems might follow. Some Source 2 systems might never be right for CSGO. "

Source 2 is absolutely being added on a piece by piece basis, the game will never fully be overhauled, but parts of it (like the panorama UI) will be.

Please tell me where they say they "promised" to have it out by 2017?
I see them saying it's a priority, which it may well have been. But it certainly isn't a promise. So stop acting like they owe you something.

exactly. pretty sad that part of the community only sees the "missing" new UI, and not that everything else on that list got into csgo last year

and thx for the quotes, I am on Mobil and don't have the URLs here

No problem, you were correct so before people started calling you out for not having proof or just calling you a liar, just thought I'd throw the quotes out.
It's best to be able to counter an idiots argument before he makes it in my opinion.
Of course they owe us, are you so stupid to wait for bread crumbs for years? Huge amount of money is being pumped INTO CSGO yearly by community, and Valve gives nothing useful back. Map rotations?? That's it?? Grow a f-ing spine and demand to be treated with respect.

Game has a f-ing 32-bit executable in 2018. It's hogging resources like crazy, consumes crapload of RAM while GPU is almost unutilized. FPS is insanely inconsistent and any random patch can cause frame drops (and they often do).

Year is 2018. Dota 2 is being updated WEEKLY, with huge patches. Why don't you face it? Valve doesn't give a damn about CSGO because it doesn't make money like subscriptions to Dota Plus will, now that they introduced them (another one of ~15 patches so far, and it's only March).

And what the hell are you talking about "modular build engine"? They can't make Source 2 core engine magically "appear" into being out of 200x20mb patches without anyone noticing, don't be stupid. And core gameplay doesn't change or else everyone would notice. And neither does performance, i.e. it doesn't improve. You can't even alt+tab and expect to get back into the game before 10 seconds, that's how long it takes just to alt+tab.

And another thing: stop talking about the stupid UI because it doesn't change anything. It's not even there for starters, and even if it were core gameplay and poor performance that goes along with it would still be there, because it still doesn't utilize RAM like 64-bit application would.

Source 2 is upgraded version of Source 1, it's like Windows 7 is upgraded Vista or Win 8.1 is upgraded Win8

Base is the same just some code improvements, and valve said that they won't put CSGO as whole on Source 2 because it wasn't designated for it and it wouldn't work best, keep in mind Source 2 was based for Dota 2 which is MOBA and not FPS shooter :p

No, I paid like $5 for what I got. Everything after that has practically been a gift, I never had to invest anything financially besides the operation passes which aren't even required to play the maps.

So no, they don't owe us anything.

Not going to bother with the rest. You're clearly entitled and there's no changing your opinion so there's no point in trying.
I don't "owe" you a proper reply ;)

Again with the "me, me, me" logic. Not everything revolves around you, pal. Some people actually support the game, unlike you. I know I do. So I expect something in return for my support. Otherwise, what are they spending all that money on? Don't bother, the question is rhetorical.
Also about entitlement, kids like you who don't put anything into the game because they can't afford it are entitled. I, and many other who do, are owed. Might want to learn the difference.

So you're saying that Valve has no intentions of making a 64-bit executable for CSGO? Am I understanding your words correctly?

Well said. We put money into this game, we buy skins, we pay micro translations etc. Our money go to employees that are hired yo make this game better. We dont see an better anticheat, hell every hack except c4 detonation is ignored and the cheater can play with legit players hundred of hours before valve finally gets bored to track that specific cheat, we dont see 128 tick servers.
I personally would love to see more servers in east Europe with lower latency, and would love to see more mechanics like breaking a corner of a wall ( source2 even if I'm not an awper) less situations when I'm after a wall but the servers places me in open field ( attention, not to be mistaken with bad peak mechanic) and so on.
Is true i dont open crates, I prefer buying the skins I like from market but they are still my money that I give for free to valve

I used to open cases before but not anymore. I won't give them any more money until they actually drag this game from the past into the present.
And I told myself if I get to Global Elite before they do any significant work on it (I'm LEM currently close to SMFC), then I will stop playing completely. There's only so much time I can wait.

Dota 2 has seen overhaul after overhaul, cosmetics and updates up to wazoo while CSGO still lingers in the past, being patched with obscure bug fixes and skins by a small group of people, who actually rely on the community workshop to provide the skins. They just gather it up, put it in a case and then sell the keys. And don't even get me started on the drop rate of even purple or pink items, let alone reds, knives or gloves. Chances are so miniscule that you might as well be throwing money out the window.

But people still do buy keys and open cases and Valve still doesn't give anything back. It's downright insulting at this point.

why do you praise dota2 cosmetic updates but talk bad about skins in csgo? not every skin is community made, but even when. you would complain when valve spend time on creating skins instead of working on the game, don't you?

obscure Bugfixes? the hitboxes fixes last year are obscure for you? and the new sound engine is nothing for you?
the new player models are something from the past?

csgo got many improvements last year, you sound like you are ignoring them.

I am 21 years old, the base price is the price of the game. Everything else is a gift.
I have paid for operations, skins, cases, stickers for pickems.
I've been to majors, spent hundreds on that as well.
I've given CS more support than you could ever imagine, but that doesn't mean I have to be entitled like you. They owe me nothing for what I have paid.
You aren't owed anything, grow up.
