Settings keep changing back to super high graphics

Hey guys, for some reason even after changing the videodefault.txt file, csgo keeps going back to the high graphics I don't want. After checking my files again, I find several files called video.change(random number).txt that keep popping up each time I change default settings. If you check the file it brings up

config key 'VendorID=4318' is no longer default.
config key 'DeviceID=4068' is no longer default.
config key 'setting.mat_monitorgamma=2.200000' is no longer default.
config key 'setting.gpu_mem_level=2' is no longer default '0'.
config key 'setting.gpu_level=3' is no longer default '2'.
config key 'setting.mat_antialias=8' is no longer default '0'.
config key 'setting.videoconfig_version=1' is no longer default.
config key 'setting.mem_level=2' is no longer default '0'.

(config data here I'm not putting in because its just changed settings)

It is obviously overriding my changes to default settings for no reason, and I can't stop it. Please Help

-P.S. Yes I have tried changing the settings in the video.change files and it just makes a new one

I've also tried changing the settings using GeForce Experience and it just changes back

Add the commands changing it back to low in autoexec, have you tried that?

There is no autoexec file, I've tried looking for it

I found the fix, let me just right this down for anyone else to see.

Delete the cfg file, verify files integrity, and tadaaa
Also make sure you dont have a autoconfig file

After you verified game cache did the file re-appeared with the proper settings? Asking cuz I have the same problem only with audio settings. Video is ok for me, new implementation of 3d audio is ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Btw, there is something wrong with their last update, it seems very likely.

Oh, did you try to play on the setting they auto changed for you and if so did you experience cs:go crashes?

It would change for me and crash every 10 minutes, this has been like this fro 2 years. Now I deleted the cfg file and it doenst crash anymore (just went on for like 30 min)

Ha, interesting. 2 years you say? This new file video.change(random number).txt seems to be a recent addition, can't say how recent. I had similar issue with csgo randomly crashing for 2 or 3 months around a year ago. At that time I reinstalled gpu drivers which helped. So next time you have such an issue try your solution first, then try reinstalling gpu drivers, and in the end you can try changing the said video cfg file manually and make it read-only.

As of now there is VAC error players get and it's definitely on Valve side. What bugs me is that I do not have it and it is likely to be either server related or more likely related to steam account. Anyway, I thought it was on my end - haven't played for 2 weeks and two days ago game keeps crashing every single round on dd2. Then, yesterday,I play mirage without any single crash and proceed to play overpass with 2 crashes. My audio setting, specifically 3d audio, new introduction keeps overriding itself after restarting the game.

I guess, something wrong with their code as it's not the 1st instance of such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ during a weekend. Thanks for reply, tho, will try your solution.
