How people see through the black smoke of the molotov?

I can't see sh*t through it yet I always get AWPed through it. It's literally just black.
I have brightness on full so I don't understand.

EDIT: I play with all graphics on high.

if u stand close to the molly u can see through the smoke easier than if u are far away. certain video settings can change the visibility through the smoke too i believe but im not 100% sure

I usually play on high and I still can't see before they see me. :(

I can see them easily, try setting everything to low then upping the shader and effect details, maybe that'll help. Maybe it's the anti-aliasing or texture filtering, idk.

When I see a certain shape move, I shoot and jump away. I don't usually expect to hit anything, but it's saved my life and killed the other guy a couple times, so it's worth trying. By certain shape, I mean the general outline of the opposing team's player model.
