Use apple earbuds as headphone and mic

Hi, I'm have a Windows 7 custom build desktop. I wanna use the earbuds as a headphone and mic. The headphone works but the mic doesn't, I bought a 1 female and 2 male. I tried connecting it to my earbuds and can only hear the sound coming in but the mic still doesn't work. I check the mic of my earbuds on my iPhone and it works. So I know for sure the mic isn't spoilt. Any help please, thanks.

Yea I tried that, the mic for Apple earbuds doesn't seem to get recognized by my Windows computer
