signs of ranking up or down
i am gn1, i havnt lost any of my last 8 games, won 5, drew 3. I have over 25+ kills in every match, 50 is my highest. I was told youre put against players around your ability and i was put against gn1/2 in one match and we drew, i was 36-1-21 with 7mvp and 86 points. The next match i played was vs all silver team. Is it possible to have your rank go down even without losing any mathes?

Depends on mvps, but if you are gn1 and get into a team where they are all gn2 and everyone of there team is gn2, you will be close in my knowledge

Losing a few doesnt mean you will derank as long as you are top fragging with plenty of mvps

Winning or losing doesn't guarantee an increased or decreased skill rating, respectively. People have ranked up on losses and deranked on wins; there is more to the ranking system than win/loss, frags, and whatever other metrics you're trying to logically theorize.

On top of this, there are also 1+ million other players fighting to do the same thing you're doing. You have to beat them while also beating the system.

There is no conclusive answer anybody can give you except you're looking for answers where they don't exist.

"probably"

There are probably 400,000 other players that perform as well as you.

so cs go ranking is broken because the whole point in ranks is to make the game challenging and so you are against players of equal ability, my last 8 games have been quite easy and the ranking system seems to think i need to be in a lower rank?

Your lack of knowledge is dragging you into an misguided pit of confirmation bias.

A handful of good games means, from an impartial perspective, that you've had a handful of good games. It doesn't mean you've improved overall as a player. The system knows this; ipso facto you've been performing well and haven't been promoted.

Convince the system you're a better player than your rank by consistently performing well and you'll get your rankups. If you feel the ranking system is broken because you aren't getting the rankups "you deserve"; then too bad, aforementioned misguided bias. There are at least 1 million other players in the same boat as you, many of which are likely performing as well as you if not better. If someone outperforms you and gets promoted, that is one less spot in the rank above you, that's one more person you have to outperform to get the promotion. There is such a staggering amount of theoretic knowledge regarding the rank system that I simply can't be bothered to sit here and elaborate it all.

You aren't a special snowflake, the system works fine. Keep playing.

No. Im LE close to ranking up. I won a game where everyone was supreme and lem besides me. Next game I won and the others were dmg and mge and even one mg2. I think the system throws in these outlier games to adjust your rank and see if you deserve it.
