Distorted Audio (SOLVED)

SOLVED BY deleting the contents of the Steam>userdata>[SteamID]>730>local>cfg folder.

Suddenly my sound in CSGO is really distorted, staticy, and slowed-down. Everything was working fine this morning, and I can't remember making any changes to the PC since. Music, Videos, and other games play normally.

I have tried:
- verifying game cache
- restored Audio Settings to default
- increased snd_mixahead to 0.1 (from 0.05)
- removed autoexec to make sure its settings are not the problem
- snd_mix_async 1
- selected correct Audio device (instead of OS Default)
- Switched from "Stereo Headphones (HRTF)" to "Stereo Headphones"

None of this has had a noticable effect.
Anyone have an idea what could be causing this?

I switched my audio output configuration in the csgo menu. Under options ----> audio settings.

Tried snd_mix_async 1, switched from HRTF to regular Stereo Headphones, and selected Audio device. No change for me.

SOLVED by reinstalling CSGO. Also deleted the contents of the Steam>userdata>[SteamID]>730>local>cfg folder.

Happened to me too, reinstalling now.
I hear the sounds on the menu, and it's more of screeching sound could be more similar to Sgt. Slaughter's problem.

Same sound problem came back today. Solved it by deleting the contents of the Steam>userdata>[SteamID]>730>local>cfg folder. Reinstall not necessary.

I guess the cfg files get corrupted, and deleting them seems to cause them to be rebuilt properly when csgo is started.

This is what i do but the settings dont save it will lag your game when you enter the audio setting and can possibly freeze the game. and will drop your fps every five secounds when you load a new map making you have to change it again. this is the broken part of the update they need to actually fix. This has been crashing my game since the update. the update one or two days ago made this a million times worse ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crashing my entire screen so hard i have to unplug my computer to restart it because nothing even keypresses dont even work. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my steam as well booting my entire account offline
