Csgo mic cutting out
My mic works perfectly fine when in discord however in the last week, my mic has been cutting out whenever i talk in game; my mic will work for the first half a second to a second and will then cut out (i.e. when I call "One is squeaky", my teamates will only here "One i" which is extremely frustrating for both myself and my teamates.

I had thought that I solved the problem by maxing out steams receive volume and by moving my mic extremely close to my mouth (I'm pretty much eating my mic when I play) however the problem still occurs. I can communicate fine when shouting at the top of my voice however it is less than ideal to be like Moe for every callout so any help would be great!

I have the same problem, I have trouble shooted that it is not my mic, and I don't think it's csgo, because I've verified my game files. so I think it might be a bug with the hardware. do you mind telling me what the specs of your PC. specificly your motherboare/soundcard.

I have a Gigabyte Gaming 3 motherboard and don't have a dedicated sound card and I use a hyper x cloud 2 headset. I was able to fix the problem by installing the latest firmware for my headset and now my mic is working perfectly in game.

I have worse issues where my push to talk button stops working. It doesn't help to rebind it either.

Are you saying that your push to talk doesn't work entirely or cuts off?

I have the same problem. Mic cuts off after a few words while in game. Have tried known good headsets and mic, keyboard and mouse from a different machine where sounds work fine. Two machines are almost identical in build.
Intel I7 - 6700
MSI GTX 1070
ASUS z170-A mb
HyuperCloudx 2 HS

Tried different push to talk keys, verified and tested changes most windows setting for audio still no luck

Here is autoexec.cfg sound config that works great on similar machine

// Audio
volume "0.7"
voice_enable "1"
voice_scale "1" // receive volume
voice_mixer_volume "1" // mic volume
windows_speaker_config "1" // headphone audio output
snd_use_hrtf "0"
snd_mixahead "0.05" // sound delay
snd_pitchquality "1"
snd_ducking_off "1"
snd_front_headphone_position "90"
snd_rear_headphone_position "90"
snd_headphone_pan_exponent "1"
snd_headphone_pan_radial_weight "0"
snd_legacy_surround "0" // emulated surround sound
snd_mute_losefocus "1" // mute game when alt-tabbed
dsp_enhance_stereo "0"
dsp_slow_cpu "0"
snd_musicvolume "0"
lobby_voice_chat_enabled "0" // voice chat in lobby
