exec file (not autoexec) doesn't work
Hey everybody,

I wanted to execute a file that I can load up in offline vs bots games. It should help me with commands like show impacts, grenade trajectory etc.
I saved every command I wanted to be executed at once in a training.cfg (not .cfg.txt). But it doesn't work. I also tried really simple code lines like:

sv_cheats 1 god

nothing seems to work... I always get the "exec: couldn't exec training" error message.

It gets even stranger. There is a test.cfg file in the cfg folder from the beginning, that I can run. It changes some perspectives and other stuff. If I change the code inside that file, save it and run it in CS GO (exec test) it does exactly the same thing as before (change perspective).

What am I doing wrong? Please help me. It is really annoying to input the whole code before I can start with my training...

what is the location of the config file exactly?
DocCovington Mar 2, 2017 @ 6:37am
The config files have a new location

As of December 2015, configuration files are stored in the user directory so that different users on the same computer can each have their own configuration.

The new location is: ..\Steam\userdata\[userid]\730\local\cfg\config.cfg

You can safely delete the file in your game's ..\csgo\cfg folder, it is redundant.

Thank you! I put the files in this folder. Now it works! To bad I will never remember that path... ;)

just search the userdata folder for cfg or autoexec or make a shortcut on your desk to it.
