Does Pattern Index affect the skin wear?

I am asking because I have FT Galil Chatterbox 0.35, but some other 0.36 and 0.37 has better wear than mine in a specific area!

no. float = wear. pattern index is just how the specific pattern is applied on the skin. you can have the same skin with pattern index 357 but with different floats. but scratches are on different parts of the skin depending on the pattern index.

Yes I know that, but my question is it affecting some skins so that higher float of the same skin could be better than a lower float one in a specific area ?

I think it might be true for skins with complex patterns, where the skin itself is a fixed image and not a pseudo-procedural picture dependant on the PatIND (case in point - things like M4A4 | Paladin, AK47 | Fuel Injector and so on). The skin itself is fixed to the same spot regardless of the current Pattern; however, the mask that is applied by Wear Float might be offsetted partially by Pattern Index, creating a feel of the same skin having different wear. Don't quote me on that, though - I may be wrong, as I have a rather limited base for that theory (I've seen a few similar skins with different floats having their scratches differ significantly up to being differend kinds - a narrow deep cut vs a large lightly brushed area); yet, they still tended to be localized in roughly same spots).
