how much disk space you have whats your internet speed and whats the error you get also try deleting your avp since windows comes with windows defender which doesnt cause these issues and run steam as admin

Today i just tried it and got the same "Content file locked".

First there was an update of some like 23 MB and then after the update it didn't launch. Same as you i could play perfectly days ago. Hope some developer reads.

disable your anti virus, find for csgo.exe in your program files for steam and move it to the csgo folder in /common
:) just fixed it right now

Avast is a great tool, you just need to learn to use it, in this case which files to put in the exceptions for Behavior Shield:

Settings > Components > Behavior Shield > Exclusions > select your Steam installation folder

No need to disable anything.

If it doesn't, then people need to stop saying that it does and to advise other to uninstall or disable their anti-virus, because that is utter nonsense. ;)

try it in safemode+ networking.
if it updates then it is the software you have installed probably firewall or virus scanner.
