NO MATTER WHAT I DO I CAN'T GET BLACK BARS
My GPU is AMD. I've search through and through on how to get black bars but no dice. I've changed aspect ratios from display and even on the CSGO profile.
I just purchased an ssd and had everything reinstalled. Previously to when I bought my SSD, when I downloaded CSGO to my HDD I'm pretty sure it automatically went to black bars when I changed to 4:3.
But my SSD is just stuck at stretch for some reason.

I probably should have been more clear in my post. I've already went to my video card settings and tried everything. I've googled and looked at youtubes videos as to what settings set to stretech and which settings are set to black bars. It just comes out stretched everytime.

Uh, I don't think bar bars is what's hurting your eyes..
And it's a matter of preference.

Did you update windows 10 to the creators update. For me and some other people with AMD cards updating to win10 creators doesn't allow me to play with black bars. Try to roll back the windows 10 update to an older one it worked for some people.

Thank you! I will try that!

Sorry, I'm not trying to use a third party program. Not that I refuse to use it, but it's just that fact that when I go through the AMD controll settings, it should work that way. Even with NVIDIA, you go through the same settings. You go to your AMD/NVIDIA dislay settings. If you want black bars you set it to aspect ratio. If you want stretched you set it to fullscreen. Exactly what ✪ET -iwnl- linked (which I've already tried). The fact that that's not working means theres a problem and I want to fix that problem. Either way I think ar300500 is right. I haven't tried it yet, so I might just do that. I'm beginning to think it is because of windows 10. I think I remember reading something on reddit that Microsoft doesn't want you to update a certain thing, which I don't remember. That it was messing up peoples computers. I'll try that and see what happens.

I had the same issue, it was my drivers they were out of date and the res i was trying to stretch cant be on this screen so i went a little lower and it worked. and that program is very handy when testing around with this so keep it and keep trying diffrent things. its happend to a lot of people.

stretch is argueably better because it makes playermodels larger and therefore easier to hit. idk i just prefer it stretched.
