cant get GOTY enhanced to work

when i click on the game it wont allow me to launch the came it just cancels it out and says press play any advice

Windows 11 User here. Best advice in regard, open your games location folder through STEAM, should look something like this, as that's where my copy is located.

F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\BorderlandsGOTYEnhanced\Binaries\Win64

Right click the BorderlandsGOTY file and click properties. Click the Compatibility Tab, Click "Change setting for all users", tick the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:", select Windows 7 in the drop down box, Apply, OK. Run the game.

Should work for you. That's the only work around/fix I have found in regard to it.

[ i tried it still doesnt work ive tried other ways as well ive made it family share could that be a problem as well?

I got it to open, but I had to run the game as admin from the file location. I then had to install a driver from C++ Driver from 2013. I renamed the file to Launcher and it did launch from Steam once. Then I tried to retrace my steps and it didn't work again. It's a very strange bug.

The game works if I run it as admin. You can also disable the launcher if you get the game to run once thus eliminating it.

I wouldn't think that "Family Share" would have any bearing on the issue at hand. Hmm. I'm officially puzzled in regard.

launcher is not working but game runs fine if you open it from the folder
