Is it me or did they change "midgets" from the game?

first time i played this was a couple of years ago and i swear i remember them calling the little people midgets now they're called "freaky little maniacs" am i bugging? lol

Now that you mention it, I too remember them being named midgets back when I was first playing on ps3. DId some reading and this may have changed when bl3 decided to name them "tinks" for a more "appealing/appropriate" term. Even the Wiki calls them midgets

Yes they changed it.

They are called midgets in playthrough 1 and maniacs in playthrough 2.

Many enemies change names in PT2. As far as I know that's always been the case.
