I reinstalled BL1,2,3 and will be doing a sequential playthrough eventually, the last time I played BL1 was 2018, so it can't be that bad, and that wasn't even the enhanced version.

Yes. BL1 > BL2 & BL3, imo.

Sure it's kinda clunky now, but 2 just felt like a painful slog against the bullet sponges, and 3 has the most obnoxious writing and characters possible, and they never F-ing shut up.

You can mod BL3 to make everyone shut the F up, and then it's playable, with pretty damn good gameplay. But then, to me at least, the end-game gets bogged down by Mayhem and Anointed Weapons. If you want to get very far in the Mayhem modes, you are forced into certain builds and play styles or your weapons effectively do zero damage.

So yeah, for me, BL1 is and always was the best BL.

If you DO play BL1 Enhanced, and if you want a decent long grind for better guns at max level, then I recommend NOT abusing the chest farm at the end of Robo-Revolution DLC. I remember it being trash compared to other farming spots, but in GOTY Enhanced it consistently gives near top tier items. You can get (nearly) all the best guns VERY quickly if you farm it.

bl3 gameplay isnt that crazy when you think about all the modern day shooter mechanics. like back in the day bl2 was not a bad shooter xD its just in current days no wall ledge jumping or slideing is like ANCIENT but i get you the guns in bl3 are also a step up. the pre sequal isnt bad imo

It's a 2009 game. So, you're getting 15 year old graphics, 15 year old UI, 15 year old AI. All built on UE3.

If you understand all that and are willing to accept it, then yes, it's a solid game, one that started the whole franchise.

The story tone is lower key, grittier, more desolate, some players prefer that to the later zanier games. I prefer the later games, but I still think this one is worth playing through at least once.

My view, also.

I'm enjoying the playthrough, seeing how things were before BL2. Definitely darker in places, weapons don't feel as accurate, some things that are automatic in BL2 need to be done manually... but still enjoying it.

Not sure if it has as much replay value as BL2, but I don't regret the purchase.

Yes, I think there's a lot to enjoy for new players. There's a lot of satisfaction in simply playing and leveling up the different characters and experiencing the story. Lilith and Roland were my favorite to play as. I prefer Lilith's Phasewalk to Maya's Phaselock in Borderlands 2. I prefer a lot of things Borderlands 1 did. Mostly the drab, depressing, desolate atmosphere made the humor hit just right. Claptrap was a much-needed comic relief and more charming Borderlands 1. Borderlands 2 is amazing, but in contrast to 1 it feels less serious, more silly, and more obnoxious. Borderlands 1 had a rewarding weapon proficiency system, but Borderlands 2 replaced that with the bada** ranks which is mostly better

Most of the DLCs in Borderlands 1 are mediocre and frustrating in design

Personally this one is the one I default to if I just want some mindless FPS fun. The other games have way too many gimmick guns that aren't particularly useful, this one has a handful of those by in general a good gun is a good gun in this one.

I picked up the Pandora's Box set. All the DLCs are missing. l'm pizzed. Purchase it separately if you must. Steam won't help and the dev support has a history of being hacked. I don't want to give them my info. It was a fabulous price, but this is highly annoying.

BL Enhanced does not have DLC's
They are just part of the base game

Gameplay-wise and graphics-wise it's the worst in the FPS Borderlands series. Story wise it's probably the best, but mostly because the story itself isn't as in your face. I prefer this game for the atmosphere alone.
Enhanced Edition seems to be buggier than the OG game. I've had dialogue cut out inbetween sentences and the physics freak out so far. I never had such an issue with the original, and I've played that version to death. I've heard that this version also has memory leak issues if you play it for too long, but I haven't experienced that yet so I have no idea if it's true.

It's better asking because if people waste their money for nothing they'll never know if it worth or not... What you spent your money to buy games you interested? Well the refund exists, but better ask some informations if the games have some bugs or glitches, if the games have some issues, if the games are optimized bad like lags or unplayable, if the games keep crashing, that's why I asked.
