Secret Armory of General Knoxx - should I start it around lvl 30?
I'm going through the game with my friend. We're currently one or two levels above 30. We're soon heading for the trash coast, but I'm wondering if it's best to go for the Knoxx dlc at this point? I've heard the enemies aren't scaled there and are somewhere around 30. So if we go there later, the dlc will be way too easy as we're too high lvl.

Also, is there a chance this will screw up the scaling for the rest of the main game? Like that we're always 5 levels above other enemies for the rest of the main game (areas around the main storyline) after finishing Knoxx dlc?

Suggested order of play and levels for playthrough 1...

DLC # - Name - Fast Travel Location - Starting level

DLC 1
The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned.
Fast Travel Location: Jakob's Cove
Starts at level 10

DLC 2
Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot
Fast Travel Location: The Underdome
Starts at level 15

DLC 3
The Secret Armory of General Knoxx
Fast Travel Location: T-Bone Junction
Starts at level 35

DLC 4
Claptrap's New Robot Revolution
Fast Travel Location: Tartarus Station
Starts at level 10

Watch out!
The DLC level is set when you first fast travel there.
Don't go there before you are ready to do the DLC.

*** Notes ***
1.) I started a new game and leveled up to 2nd level before the fast travel would allow access to the DCL areas.

2.) The starting levels for playthrough 1 are based on the level of the first mission given in each DLC to a 2nd level character.

3.) Even though DLC 4 starts at level 10 it should be played *AFTER* DLC 3 (Level 35) because it references the previous 3 DLC's

4.) Mad Moxxi's can be played at any time that your level is 15 or above (Even out of DLC order, It's a challenge level and has little story line in it.)

this only applies if you only do 1 playthrough. if you aim to go beyond that (playthrough 2.5) I advise the following:

- aim to finish playthtrough 1 about lvl 32, meaning skipping side missions once you're at the Janistown quest.

- immediatly start P2, and do side missions only if you need the level for the main mission(s).

- There is a gap between the story missions lvl 42 and lvl 45, that's where I go to Jacobs cove and finish dr. Ned's zombie island (doing only the main missions).

- finish P2 doing mainly main missions, you should be lvl 52-54 then, enabling lvl scaling through the main game (also known as P2.5), Dr. Ned and Robolution.

- hop into T-bone junction and do the General Knoxx DLC. it starts at lvl 52 and has no lvl scaling yet. That's why you go there immediatly after finishing the main game !!

- once Knoxx is down, level scaling is enabled for the rest of the Knoxx DLC so you're free to go anywhere you want. Now it's time to do all the side missions for better gear.

if you do the DLC's in P1, you will be so much overleveled that P2 isn't fun.

So are all of the dlc's balanced before you visit them the first time? Like, if I visit all of the dlc's in let's say level 40, are all of the enemies in all of the dlc's somewhere around lvl 40, if I visit them the first time at that level?
