Feature Requests & Bug Reports
Add your own feature requests and bug reports to the topic and I'll try my best to maintain my original post with your ideas and especially bug reports. For general technical support please make a new topic on the forum, don't post here.

Please be as descriptive as possible when explaining a bug/technical issue.

---- Feature Requests ----

1) Text Chat History: Display the last 4 or so text messages you've received whenever you press T to open the text chat box. Maybe also enable access to the Console (usually associated with the Tilda key on keyboards) and have all text chat messages duplicated in the Console? Also ensure Text Chat is always displayed in front of other UI elements.

2) Add AoE effect on Map and Minimap for active objectives that involve you scouring a specific large location. Currently there's just a single Waypoint in the middle of an undefined space and you're meant to guess the size of the area you're meant to be exploring. Examples of quests that do this would be Gun Part Scavenging and also Big Moe and Big Marley skag. I beleive later games in the franchise *do* add an AoE effect to the map for such quests.

3) Quest Objective Markers on Minimap and Map should be colour coded to indicate the difficulty of a quest relative to your current character level. This would make it obvious to all players whether a quest is appropriate difficulty or not, and make it obvious what difficulty the next quest is in a chain of quests when the game auto-switches to the next one as you complete a quest/objective.

4) Make all HUD elements render at at least 60FPS. Currently they render at 30FPS and it looks awful when moving the camera.

5) Restoration of the LAN mode. No reason to remove this...

6) Scroll wheel support for mission/quest list.

7) Add an option to stop inventory from looping around when you scroll past the top/bottom of the list (very annoying when using a mouse scroll wheel!).

8) Equipped weapons should cycle from top weapon slot to bottom weapon slot and vice versa when using the Mouse Scroll Wheel. I *think* that currently the Scroll Wheel cycles through weapons in the order that they were equipped in which quickly gets confusing.

9) Display the effects of Class Mods on the Skill Menu.

10) Add an option to disable Auto-Equip when an Equipped slot is empty.

11) Add the ability to holster your weapon so that the game feels significantly less claustrophobic the entire time you're walking around without the intent to engage in combat (which is a huge problem in every Borderlands game if you favour Sniper Rifles and Rocket Launchers).

12) Add support for 4:3 aspect ratio displays.

13)

Being able to select Protanopia, Deuteranopia or Tritanopia.
Which will change the colours of weapons to make them more distinguishable and add writing to tell the player what colour it is.

Originally posted by Soulmyr:
- Map on the fast travel stations, like Borderlands 2 and TPS, so I know where I'm going,
- single-click Restock All Ammo function available at vendors
- Multiple quest markers for quests where multiple things are available to collect, so it's not a presented to you as a linear sequence involving going from one end of the map to the other and back again.
- Multiple *differing* quest markers so I don't have to toggle off quests to keep track of the one I'm interested in.
- Ability to make Claptrap shut the ♥♥♥♥ up about new missions available every 2 minutes, sometimes it cuts off quest dialogue. It's really annoying.

16) Option to remove the floating quest/waypoint marker. I mean the thing that appears floating in gameplay space, not when looking at the map/minimap.

-------------------- -------------------- -------------------- --------------------

---- Bug Reports ----

1) Yellow Custom Waypoint/Quest Marker randomly appears on the map whenever the Quest State changes while I'm the host in 2-player multiplayer.

2) Quest Marker positioning desynchronizes/is misplaced sometimes for Clients. Possibly caused by the Host scrolling through quests with the Scroll Wheel.

3) Targeting Reticule when free-aiming, Iron Sights and when using a Scope all seem to be misaligned from where you actually shoot (especially when using Keyboard & Mouse) regardless of what type of weapon you use. When going for a head-shot with a Sniper Rifle for example it feels like 80% of the time you'll miss, 15% of the time you'll deal normal damage and 5% of the time you'll hit the enemies head.

4) Mouse aiming isn't 1:1, the vertical sensitivity axis is slightly lower than the horizontal sensitivity axis. This means that circular mouse movements are treated as oval movements in the game. Please set both sensitivities to the same scale so that circular movements are treated as circles and so that mouse movement in-game matches desktop mouse movement behaviour. Below is a work-around:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Borderlands Game of the Year\WillowGame\Config

Open WillowInput.ini
Change LookUpScale=250 to LookUpScale=300
This change will fix the mouse aiming to be similar to the Windows desktop.

5) Graphics Resolution setting always displays 1920x1080 50Hz even though I select 1920x1080 60Hz and my monitor confirms that it's operating at 1920x1080 60Hz. Other people report similar issues like the game always reporting 60Hz when they choose 144Hz for example. The correct mode seems to be set, the menu however visually displays the wrong information.

6) Game has no support for choosing what Graphics Adapter to use. This is bad for people with multiple graphics adapters, like an Intel or AMD integrated graphics chip and a discrete graphics card.

7) Graphics settings in the Launcher aren't used by the game. Everything was on the maximum settings in the Launcher but when I first launched the game the Anisotrophic setting was set to 4x and either Shadow quality or Detail quality was set to Medium.

8) Minimap doesn't rotate when you're in the backseat of a vehicle.

9) Possible issue with camera/aiming sensitivity being influenced by the Frame Rate Limiter setting. The 22-62 Smooth option *seems* to produce slightly lower sensitivity than the Unlimited setting.

10) The games Launcher application resets/overrides some graphics settings even if it is configured to be skipped via the in-game setting.

11) 90% of the time your vehicle will be destroyed/missing/gone/replaced with evil enemy occupied vehicle if you walk far enough away (the odds of this happening seem to be much lower in the original game release)

12) Ultra Wide aspect ratios seem to have some issues (I'm not familiar with them). A fix has been provided on this wiki https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Borderlands:_Game_of_the_Year_Enhanced#Ultra-widescreen

13) Various Frame Pacing/Performance issues. This seems to be the same performance issue that was introduced in Borderlands 2 when the patch that added support for Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty DLC was released for Borderlands 2 (This bug also affects The Pre-sequel). Gearbox's "attempt" to solve it in later updates to the game was to make PhysX effects visually worse/simpler instead of addressing the root cause of the performance issue, needless to say, PhysX was not the cause of the performance issues in Borderlands 2 (loot falling through the floor/walls is, though).

14) Golden Keys Chest in towns can become stuck in an Open state preventing anyone from using it until the game session is restarted.

15)

Entering and exiting player inventory/map/UI resets the magazine counts to the unenhanced default amount for players with "Additional magazine ammo" style skills. For example: With an Additional Magazine Count skill my pistol can hold 30 rounds instead of 24. With a fully loaded 30/30 magazine I open my inventory to look at new loot, return to the game and suddenly my pistol will now show 24/30 in the magazine, requiring a reload to fill it to 30 again. Original Borderlands is also affected by this.

Originally posted by Brian:
when magazine is not full, hitting "use" key will cause a weapon reload. This is especially noticeable when picking up items or opening containers, triggering a reload animation at the same time. This is also present in the original Borderlands.

17) Using Bricks Ultimate move resets the Camera FOV to the default instead of the custom value specified in settings, which makes his Ultimate move annoying enough to never want to use it.

18) You can sell your storage tech upgrades and can't buy them back, forever reducing your total backpack storage capacity.

19) Screenshots can contain illegal characters in their file names, resulting in bad interactions with the OS. See here for more information: https://steamcommunity.com/app/729040/discussions/0/1813170373219248723/?tscn=1554887200

20) The Launcher program consumes 100's of megabytes of HDD space in My Documents because of Log Files that perpetually accumulate.

21) Can't copy/paste Shift Keys.

22) Several audio bugs in Operation Claptrap DLC. Clap Trap Loudspeaker dialog is often extremely loud and Blake's Echo Communication Dialog is centered on him instead of the player's position.

24) Lots of NPC's in the main story and the DLC's will use Echo Communication Dialog despite standing near them.

I was gonna say they already appear but then I've been playing BL2 recently since I've completed my first recent playthrough of BL1.

I just wanted to report all the bugs I found while playing (and beating it after 20 hours) the main campaing, playing it in Spanish.

My rig is:
Intel Core i5 8400
AMD Radeon Vega 56 8GB
16GB DDR4 Dual Channel
SSD OCZ Trion 240GB
LG 1080p Monitor 75hz Freesync

Bug list:
    *Graphical issues:
  • I always get stuttering, tried novsync, vsync, enhanced vsync, fps limiting through the game, AMD Panel and MSI Afterburning, even on low settings. Its really noticeable for me, and super easy to check on MSI Afterburner. Best combo I found is enable Enhanced VSYNC on AMD Panel, Enable VSYNC on game and disable frame limiting on game. Game is LOCKED 75fps at 2K at Max settings, with stuttering.
  • For some reason I always get an accidental additional waypoint on the map after checking using it at least once.

    *Sound issues:
  • Sometimes audio chat (and subtitles) get cut for no reason.
  • Starting Dr. Ned DLC, when I met him, I heard at the same time the same audio twice, the one from the movie and as an audio chat.

    *Control issues:
  • Mouse behavior is strange, specially on menus/inventory. There is something wrong with it, as I always click where I dont want to.

    *Misc issues:
  • After some hours of playing, the game starts to stutter really bad, I suspect a memory leak. Quitting and playing again resolves the issue.
  • If game is not restarted after some hours the game crashes (memory leak?). I suspect many dead bodies on the map.
  • When game crashed, it corrupted something in its config files, preventing my launching the game. Deleting the config files in "My Documents/My Games/Borderlands Game of the Year" generated a new set of config files and could continue my playthrough (saved in the cloud) with no problem.

All this reported doesnt happen in any game I played (Borderlands 2 is excellent, I never got any problems with it).

Feature request:

  • It wouldnt be bad to have a graphical filter list, like Dying Light, to enhance or modify de look of the game without using reshade or graphic card drivers. I always rise the color saturation on AMD Control Panel (or Digital Vibrance on Nvidia) to get vivid colors as the game has really muted colors (B2 is way nicer).
  • It would be bad to have an internal resolution scaler, from 50% to 200%. Using drivers option generally has issues with Steam overlay and/or windows.
  • Graphics LOD should/could be higher, as its VERY noticeable on 4K at max settings, shadows and items flash instantaneously before my eyes, its distracting.
  • Mouse wheel should stop after getting to the last item on the inventory, its frustrating to use the keyboard to get to the last item.

This may have already been reported, but the Cheta Paw cars seem to keep getting stuck on the the ramp they use to enter the Sunken Sea. I have tried leaving and re-entering the area, and reloading the game, but the cars still get stuck.

So far I haven't been able to complete the quest where you destroy 10 of them, due to them not entering the map correctly.

Bug report #3 if you mean the yellow quest marker.&

No it's about the floating white diamond marker that is always on screen and show your objective permanently.

dear god I thought I was the only one. I really hate the change. none of the borderlands games (including the original borderlands 1) and it makes it horribly unplayable. its annoying when it sits in the center of a boss room or an area you have to look for something in, and when it flies all across the screen when you arent even close. it should literally act like the other games and pisses me off thinking that they actually took time to implement it when theres a compass and minimap but not fix the game breaking ♥♥♥♥ (besides it because I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate it)

its a horribly annoying change and Ive emailed them about it when I reported a bug. asking if they could either make it like the other games or a setting you can flip on or off. but we will see..

These sound like you have a cheap keyboard that can't handle certain combinations of 3 keyboard keys being held down simultaneously. Buy a keyboard with anti-ghosting or N-Key Rollover functionality to avoid the issue. Or try remapping the game functions to different keys on the keyboard.

What do you mean by "Ult"?

So you mean you want to be able to disable the general Quest Marker that appears within the game world in the vicinity of your objective?

I also have a problem with that general quest marker, I dont like seeing it at all. None of the other games do that. it only appears in other games when you are literally right beside the objective which is the better solution

Yep, not sure why they cut it from the PC version. I'd love to see it added.

BUG: Right clicking items in the inventory and selecting screenshot causes the image file to be saved to:
"%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Borderlands Game of the Year\WillowGame\ScreenShots"

The game automatically takes a nice transparent PNG of the item, and gives the file the same name as the item.

RPG10/V3 Triple Rocket Launcher[i.imgur.com]

This can be a problem because it doesn't check that the filename is safe. I saved an image of a that rocket launcher, which has a forward slash in the title. Forward slash is a special character in the file system, signifying directory structure, so the final result was:

"%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Borderlands Game of the Year\WillowGame\ScreenShots\RPG10\V3 Triple Rocket Launcher.jpg"

The solution is obvious: the game should change all unsafe characters(/, \, <, >, *, etc.) in item names to underscores before saving them.
RPG10_V3 Triple Rocket Launcher.jpg
In this case, the bug was harmless, but some of these other characters would make it impossible to save a screenshot.

You would have though that a Remaster would have taken out the old bugs, rather than adding 50 new bugs to the game? WTF
Nicholas Steel Apr 10, 2019 @ 5:21am
Some of the listed bugs also exist in the original release.

Indeed. You would almost think the remaster was done by Bethesda or something...

I can confirm that Baron Flynt audio is messed up. It started off okay, but then went quiet almost like the rest of his audio cues are using positional playback in the world even though they should be an audio transmission at a normalized volume.

Also, does shift code input field in menu not allow Ctrl+V pasting like BL2?

@Crawmerax lair, if you jump on the elevator when it's going up you fall through the floor of the elevator and get stuck in it.
Black Hole Apr 10, 2019 @ 9:02am
I doubt we will see much work added to this game. Frankly I'm disappointed in this enhanced edition, it's pretty clear they didn't actually test the game out.

I honestly regret buying the game for 20 bucks just to get this free edition, when bl2 goty edition was five bucks. feel ripped off.
