Why? No latency. My PC is connected to both a 27 inch monitor and 50 inch TV. There is no advantage to LAN gaming over local co-op.
The options are now only online friends, online public & offline
It's even worse than I thought!
I honestly don't know why they would remove a feature they already had in place.
Obviously if you have the original BL1 in your library you can still play LAN with the older version but AFAK character importing is a 1 way street between BL1-> BL1-enhanced
HDMI's work on TV too people... You can hook a PC to a huge home theatre system and play many games splitscreen with higher framerates and graphics than a typical console.
Obviously a monitor is gong to be better though due to lower latency vs even fairly pricey tvs.
At the end of the day it is a trade-off.
Personally I wish they had left LAN in & brought across the split-screen feature from consoles, it does seem preferable to removing LAN & not bothering with split-screen at all.
Why should we need to mod in a feature that comes standard in the console versions? It just doesn't make sense.
