Getting married - so whats the point exactly?

So last night i married one of my followers Erin (which was odd because were both girls and no one said anything about it) and she said she was going back to our whiterun home. Now aside from her opening a store and making almost no money......whats the point in it exactly?

You forge building materials to build your house. Trade for materials at vendors, and collect clay deposits and raw materials from the world...That's it. You already know the rest, ie the small bonuses that you get from marrying her.

If you want porn, either go to a porn site, or down load a fappy mod from fap-nexus.

I agree completly with this guy. however with the kids they should be able to do more than just fight mabey break something and lie about it. real life mischieve might be fun to ground em (:

Honestly I think the marriage is aimed more at the male gender if anything. There are maybe 3 nice looking male marriage candidates while just about every female character is nice looking. Also the lack of mushy gushy romance is another slight to the females. If anything skyrim is filled with trophy wives and doting house wives while the female players get simply marriages of convience.

sad, but true however i think there are a few MODS that can help with that. i dont know the names because im oviosly a dude but when i was a female dark elf. i resorted to marring mjol the lioness becasue well i couldnt find any males like you said.

I didn't get married yet, but I thought I read someplace that your wife/huband can be taken away by some gang and you have to get them back. That sounds like another quest like thing to me.

I will check to see if there are any marriage quest like mods on Nexus later. I'd have thought this would be a red flag to the modding community.

What timeadored posted was last updated in 2012... and it added just a couple of subquests to begin with. The main part of it was the possibility for divorce and polygamy etc. I have not heard of a mod that would add any depth to the possible spouses, or major questlines. There is a Serana marriage mod but I think that just made her a shop/homecooked meal provider like all the other ones.

There are quite a few of those mods for Serana but all her magic would be gone of she turned into another mindless npc sitting at home waiting for the main character to come through the door. Also the closest thing i have seen for romance or anything like that for marriage in skyrim was a mod that like you change their outfits and you could turn on hugging. But you can't control when they hug you and they usually do it at random when you come in the door

I guess we will just have to be happy with what the game gave us in the first place. Maybe ESO will be different since it is an mmo. Maybe we will have more interactions with the other characters since they are real people and not coding.

Look, the thing is that Steam is a nice PG environment. I'm not going to post you links to spice up your Skyrim Marriage. But...if you have Nexus' NMM and can use that with BOSS...well then you can use Nexus mods and also search google for loverslab.

I just found the Animated Prostitution mod which adds a necklace which can make u have sex with any NPC and theres loads you can do

I suggest everyone get this JUST for the LOLS factor. I actually cried alittle while laughing because it just looks so damn silly and the noises some of the characters make just sounds so bizzare

I also found if my female character acts like a tramp and has sex with anyone and everyone that i usually get whatever i want from anyone. I even found if i had sex with bad guys that they just didnt wana fight me anymore!? i can walk into a village full of the forsworn and none will fight me as i had sex with them all

I know what you mean about loverslab. In fact I find all the sex type animations real dull and mechanical. But. I'm not sure you should write it off: I juat looked at the Sexlab area and the biggest download numbers are for things like 'Romance' and 'Matchmaker.' The dodgy stuff is there sure, but it seems to me that they have what you're looking for too.

To quote the Romance thing on there:

"SexLab Romance is a new mod for use with the SexLab framework that allows the player to initiate sex via dialogue rather than spells.

Romance is not just another "want sex, get sex" type mod, instead the mod works with a huge range of factors to determine your likelihood of success for a given NPC. Not all NPC's are the same, indeed if you are starting a new game you may well find that more often than not your attempts at romance are doomed to fail, win over an NPC enough times and they may even be willing to follow you though (Obviously if you romance an important NPC enough and recruit them as a follower then you run the risk of breaking quests, use at your own risk!)."

I haven't tried this stuff as I'm new to the game and like to kill the dragons, but it does sound close to what you are describing.

Steam does provide rated stuff, but you have to enter your date of birth (which IDK, seems a little easy to bypass?) But at least Steam does have some consideration for the younger ones...It apparently takes pride in catering for the kiddies.....

would steam have ago at me if i posted some of the SCREENSHOTS i could take of this new sex mod? some of the stuff thats happened or that i could take photos of just cracks me up. I have 4 followers and i had sex with a black npc character and then left whiterun. I returned and when i walked past him it just suddenly went to a sex scene!? i didnt even speak to him or anything i just walked past him and then suddenly my character is face down on the floor and hes ontop of me thrusting away!??? and all my 4 characters do is creeply watch.....

it was wierd as hell but i also couldnt stop laughing how badly the mod had glitched

If i also have sex with any male khajits they sure as hell make some damn funny noises which im sure i havent heard during the vanilla gameplay

I just wana show some people what im on about because some of it is just to damn funny but i dont wana get told off for doing so
