No courier (dark brotherhood) and later bugs!

I dont know why but courier from dark brotherhood (we know letter) never comes. Believe me I slept in many beds , waited etc. etc. but he never came . So I did another quest (repair the white phial) and the courier came (from letter from that guy with phial). I asked him - no brotherhood notes. YES I returned to aventus arentino. He came back to the orphanage. I tried loading old save and doing his quest again - still no courier. So I didnt see any way to fix it. I used console commands (setstage db02 10 and I teleported to astrid). Then everything went normal. I killed 3 people (nazir basic contracts) and now im stucked. No cicero in the sanctury. I tried teleporting to him (it teleported me to dawnstar sanctuary). I tried teleporting him to me (he is like hello listener again [like I saved his life in dawnstar but i wasnt even there yet]). He wants to follow me. God why..... Anyone knows any way to fix it? I have earlier saves before using commands so any ideas how to make courier come will be good also.

I'm sick and tired of seeing crap like that on this forum.

How do people not understand by now after all the reports of problems, to stop using mods, console commands, and 3rd party programs/tools such as the SKSE, BOSS, and the unofficial patch. Using any of those when you're playing the base game WILL BREAK YOUR GAME! Yes they break your game and all the reports of problems PROVE THIS. To deny this means you're either a troll or trying to provoke problems, or you represent people who made this and just like steam does here, they make sure all negative comments about anything they protect are removed

(And don't even bother trying to argue that doesn't happen because here is a thread from the administrator that has tons of people complaining about those exact types of issues)

Anyway back on track:
Now sure so some people claim they have never had a problem, but that is exactly the point. A few people here and there not having problems, doesn't make up or justify the fact that mods, console commands, and 3rd party programs break the game.

The ignorance level on this is so beyond out of control it's ridiculous. And when anyone that knows why this happens tries explaining it, the only thing people want to do is shut them up by slandering them, and pretty much trolling and spamming that thread till the point it either gets deleted or locked. and then people such as this topic creator wind up saying and reporting every single thing that was said in the topic that got destroyed, and yet people still go into denial and flame and troll even more.

I'm sorry, but if people are too dumb to not be able to read all the reports of problems and see every one of them are all using mods, console commands, 3rd party programs, and then still go ahead and use them then you got what you deserved

People have been told over and over that mods, console commands, and 3rd party programs break the game, and even after all the proof that's on the forum, people still go ahead and use them anyway, then you come back to the forum and complain you're game is broken and blame everything and anyone but yourself.

You want a game with no problems, then
STOP USING MODS,
STOP USING CONSOLE COMMANDS
STOP USING 3rd PARTY PROGRAMS AND PATCHES

Man. Your post doesnt change anything. Now its too late for that (yes I was using skse and unofficial skyrim and dragonborn patch and some other mods also). The question is can i fix it ?

Haven't run into this issue, sorry, wish I could help... but no, I can tell you that in this case the patches at least aren't to blame. Ran through the DB quest fully patched without any issues.

Undertsand the furstration fully... my suggestion: be patient, see if anyone on here can offer another solution. Forcing broken quests forward, especially some of the larger ones, can have effects that compound on top of each other.

Don't you have to sleep in a bed that you own? Hire a room at the inn or go to your house,unless that's what you did

I deleted the whole skyrim folder in my games except saves. I have previous saves with not so much mods . Im downloading skyrim right now, I will tell if that will help

Tried an old save (but I had couple mods also when I was saving that game) and it didnt work. Tried 7 lvl save didnt work. I installed mod (No Boring Sleep-Wait Menu) and waited 10 days. Courier didnt come. Im out of ideas

It might be time to try a new character. Never the answer we want I know, but better a clean game than a broken one.

Ouch. Are you running Wars in Skyrim? Only thing useful I found was this, and it seemed to be a mod issue, one which wasn't helped by disabling it. The poster had to re-start. FPQ4 may be right.

No im not running wars in skyrim. I started clean new game and everything went fine with courier (almost instantly lol). Cicero is on his right place. Now im playing assasin (mage is kind of boring when u do -100% destruction. Now I wont install any mods xdd or just ill do copy of savegames.

Some very nice guy on skyrimforums.org wrote a response to help fix this issue for some. I used this and it's worked nicely, so far. I won't take any credit for this tip and I'll just quote his message:

I hope this helps all you Brotherhood fans that can not get the courier to give you the mysterious note after completing Innocent Lost... no matter what you try. This was the case for me and, after two hours of vanity, I found a solution.

1. Using the console (tilde key in game), start the quest "With Friends Like These..." by typing (with spaces):

setstage DB02 10

2. Then go to the Abandoned Shack where Astrid is (located East of Solitude). The shack will be a landmark (shaped like a house with a skewed roof), use it to guide you there.

3. The door to the shack will be locked. Again, using the console, give yourself the key by typing (with spaces):

player.additem 0002E3F8 1

4. Enter the shack and kill one of the three kneeling people (does not matter which one). Talk to Astrid (perched on a shelf in the corner) and the quest will hopefully continue as normal. If so, she will give you the pass phrase and location to get into the Dark brotherhood Sanctuary.

^ I mentioned that I used command. In my case it caused later bugs like cicero not coming to sanctuary with night mother etc. So i just decided to make a clean save ;P

Fair-do's :)

However, It might work for others and it took me ages to find this work-around. Hence its inclusion, hehe. Maybe it'll help someone...
