Location names changing to names in other languages.
I'm having a problem where certain locations-names change to the names but written in foreign languages. Every time I try to open my map while at those locations my game crashes. I don't have mods that should change names.

Does anyone know why this happens and how I can fix it?

Are the places with changed names vanilla or mod places? perhaps you installed a mod made with diff language names if they are mod places. I have no ideas other than that. edited for this : you could try uninstaling mods to see if one of them is responsable.

These are vanilla locations:

Dragonsreach now is ''fort dragon''
Castle volkihar is ''festung volkihar''

I've mostly had this problem with dawnguard locations but now some of the non-dlc locations start doing the same.

Do you have any mods that modify any locations? Not specifically the name, just in general.

Try to modify the game language to something and then back to your language ?

I've had that happen. Turned out is was one of the mods I had installed. It was made by someone in Russia, despite being in english, and slowly started changing the names of a few places to the Russian ones. I think the person had taken it from another site and uploaded it with as their own at the time.

Can't remember how I fixe it (If I even did, may have just wiped and redownloaded).

4 out of 5 times, the error checking in skse ini will fix it. There are some that it can't though. It sucks when a location's name turns into squares, but it won't really affect your game.

Same here. Removal of the mod ( a small hut) fixed the problem.
