Is there a reward when becoming Arch mage other than a title?
Do you get anything when completing the eye of magnus quest with the mage's college other than the archmage room and title? It has been a while but I kinda remember getting to design your own spells or something in oblivion when finishing the mages guild quest line.

Both the companions and mage's college questlines seems kinda bareboned tbh.

Sorry, but unfortunately they got rid of custom spellmaking in Skyrim. What you get for completing the questline is the Archmage robes which increases your magic regen and makes spells from all schools cost less to cast.

ah man, also found out that you get repetable quests in the college afterwards too, at this point im just having fun when modding or just exploring.

There are just not enough story behind any of the quests and some of them would be impossible without the quest arrow pointing you to the right place. "help I lost my shield in a cave" and your questlog doesnt hold information to where that is, you just have to use the locate on map function.
Not to mention the mmo style quests, "get me 10 wolf pelts" or "i lost my alchemy gear somewhere in the college" every 3 days.

Sorry for the rant, but the more I play the shallower this game gets.

The only thing you get after becoming arch mage is the arch mage's robe.

Nope! You got to make your own spells merely by entering the university.

And this is different from Oblivion how?

You get some crap robes that are likely worse than what you already have.

Yeah, they really dropped the ball on the quests in this game, especially compared to Oblivion.

You can also grab the potions and plants in the archmages quarters without having a "stolen" tag attached to them, they respawn after a while

Actually the Quarters are yours. You can sleep there, store things, enchant items and use the alchemy table. You get a key to get in and own everything in the room.

I just hate that everytime you become the leader of a guild, the only rewards are the title, a room and some armor/clothing. You can't even command people to do stuff, you can't recruit new people, you can't send people away, and sometimes members of the guild won't even recognise you as the boss. And that after you become the leader you only get repeatable quests. The DB really becomes dull after you become the leader. Same with the College.

Maybe it was just as bad in oblivion too, but its been awhile and it was my first elderscrolls game so it may be nostalgia talking.

Some kind of managing the guild would be nice, sort of a strategy minigame, choose recruits, send them out on jobs and watch them level up

I really hoped they would do this with the DB. Picking out the right person, paying them a nightly visit and discovering their story, etc... But what do we get? Dull Dark Brotherhood Initiates.

it would be cool to command guildies to assassinate some people or go kill the bandits in the dungeons

Honestly, for TES 6 I hope I don't become faction leader after completing any faction quest line. Sure, give me a room I might or might not ever sleep in, and some gear that might or might not be better than what I already have. And sure, give me a fancy title or something. But please don't kill off or retire the current faction leader and make me become the new one.

Being able to join every faction would make so much more sense that way.

yeah agreed, why would they want a leader thats never there anyway?
I hope they do a better questlog and quests thats not always on the other side of the map.
also a "smaller" story, it just feels kinda wrong doing a civil war quest chain and there are perhaps 10 people at each major battle.
