Enemy scaling in skyrim
Is there something wrong with how enimies scale is skyrim?
Because my level 30 thief can easily clear out a camp of bandit thugs, highway men ect by doing sneak shots with the nighingale bow. Same applies to dwemer ruins and nordic crypts. But when I tried to assult northwatch keep with the grey-manes a sneak attack with my bow ((37*3)+15+7=133 damage) does next to no damage to the guards and archers. Meanwhile it can basically 1-shot a bandit chief or take a large chunk of health off a centurion.
Why do these elves have so much health???

Oh btw, the Grey-manes get slaughtered before they even reach the main gate.

Plus the difficulty you play on, it is almost impossible to sneak kill someone. I just play on master and a few mods that make it harder and sneak kills do nothing, and then just get me killed :P

I use High Level Enemies mod:-

The original scaling is screwy, it scales outdoor scenarios early in the game hence they stay low level, later, when you enter dungeons or run some of the quests, the enemies are scaled to your current level.

There are some mods that make the whole game levelled, so if you go where they live you will get eaten unless your level is high enough, but I havent used any of those.

Couple of examples :)

I use that HLE mod as well as Duel Combat realism that overhauls power attacks, blocking with shields and stamina use/regen, and Revenge of the Enemies AI overhaul which adds some new abilities to enemies it makes sense for (gives shouts to more draugrs for example) and tweaks their ai so they are smarter (after sneak killing something the enemies wont just be all like "oh my what happened" theyl be like k wtf goin on who did that and start looking around)

Edit: the sneak attack changes are actually from Combat Realism too, a brief summary of the mod (which I think is pretty much essential at this point)
"Duel Combat’s plethora of slight changes to stamina, block, and damage values add up to a rebalanced combat system. With the mod enabled, avoiding hits and waiting for a timely opportunity to strike becomes far more important than charging in screaming your lungs out. (Unless, of course, that’s your angle—Skyrim is a wacky role-player’s paradise, after all.) Shields reign supreme in saving your hide, but successfully blocking an attack drains stamina—in fact, nearly everything you do sucks up your green bar, so you’ll quickly run out of breath if you’re unaware.

Enemies won’t statically stand still during combat, either, preferring to circle around and hammer down with power attacks and bash combos. Don’t expect to shrug off an unblocked blow as easily, either, as your health will plummet dramatically if something sharp or blunt connects with you.

For the sneaky types, dropping a foe from long range or from behind still causes everyone nearby to start searching for you, but they’ll keep it up for a far longer period of time. Lightly armored enemies such as archers and mages will try and hide themselves behind objects or structures for an ambush if you get too near, and enhanced lines of sight means you’ll get spotted if you aren’t patient. That just means clearing an entire camp without a single detection becomes all the more sweet."

Game balance aint bethesda's strong point . They're better at story telling . My advice is to raise the 3 stooges (alchemy , enchant , smith) and come back with better crafted gear if you dont feel like using mods. I think bandits are capped to lvl 20 or something.

Nightingale bow
Mehrunes' Razor
Dawnbreaker

oh, well.., i found out that when you never look (or organize) your skills (level 0 or 1) AND discover (nearly so far) all places, enemies will stay level 0 (or 1). is that right? cause i am really economical with my advantages and it worked very long to go on.
