if that works thank user Krayzi who posted it.

If that doesn't work for you, try one of the possible fixes from down below.

ORIGINAL POST

I decided to start playing skyrim again and I've started experiencing hard crashes. They occur exactly after 15 minutes of gameplay. I thought mods were causing the crashes because I had a LOT of them. I uninstalled every single mod that I had and it didn't help. The next step was that I uninstalled high res texturepack from steam and that didn't help either. Next up I unistalled Skyrim completely and reinstalled it to a different hard drive and it still keeps crashing.

I should add that my Skyrim worked fine couple of months back and to my knowledge nothing on my side has changed.

EDIT: I should also add that it doesn't matter where I am ingame. The crashes are not tied to any certain place. They can happen anywhere.

I'm completely lost here. I have no idea what keeps causing the crashes.
Processor: i5 6600k 3.5Ghz
GPU: GTX970
RAM: 16 gigs
OS: Win10 64bit

Things I tried:
Reinstall Skyrim to the same drive
Reinstall Skyrim to a different drive
Uninstall all mods
Uninstall all DLC
Uninstall the official texture pack
Verified game data
Tweaked graphics options
Running Skyrim in compatibility mode
Running Skyrim vanilla + unofficial patches
Deleted all possible files related to Skyrim (old saves, ini files, ect.)
Deleted my steam cloud saves
Turned off autosaving
Tweaked the SKSE.ini memory settings
Installed directX again
Did everything in cfs111's guide
Validated master files
Checked if my memory usage was spiking
Checked if my temperatures were spiking
Tried if the same problem occured in other games (no it doesn't)
Tried moving steam installation
Tried playing the game while steam was on offline mode

some third-party application giving conflict with skyrim?
Larux Nov 13, 2015 @ 2:06am
Not that I know of... pretty much the only thing that is connected to the game is Nvidia's shadowplay. Now that you mentioned it I'll try running the game shadowplay turned off. I'll update later if it helped.

Edit: Oh! And one thing. I'm running my skyrim from SKSE. Could that be the cause? I dunno why it would be though

if you have updated skse is not a problem

Ok it crashed again. I launched the game from the normal exe and shadowplay was turned off. I'm kinda low on options here :D

I'll try installing the unofficial patches and see if they do any good. I'll be monitoring temperatures and RAM usage as well

Everything is up to date. I already gave my specs. I'm also using win10 64-bit and the game HAS worked before just fine on this exact same build of the computer. I have 0 mods installed right now nexus/workshop. Game options don't seem to matter how high or low they are the crashes keep happening anyway.

Also I monitored my teperatures and RAM usage and seems like they are not the cause either. CPU temperature is hanging around 57 celcius on all cores and RAM usage stays around 1gig.

I'm gonna try next with the unofficial patches and I'll update here again.

Reports back by the OP would be so helpful.

you said "CPU temperature is hanging around 57 celcius", what about GPU?

Do you have New Vegas? see if you get the same thing happening with a different game that puts similar stress on the system, to see if it's Skyrim or something else. Unlikely, but if you tried everything else...

If you aren't already, install and configure memory blocks log www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50471/ to see if that tells you anything; most of my CTD problems have been fixed by adjusting my DefaultHeap setting.

One weird, seemingly random, CTD that drove me buggy was eventually found to be caused by a messed up texture; I finally fixed it by running "Optimizer Textures by AdPipino"

Hey everyone. I tried those tricks cfs111 but to no avail. Game still kept crashing. After 7 hours straight trying to fix the game I uninstalled it and bought Fallout 4. Thanks everyone who tried to help and I hope that this thread might help someone else experiencing crashes.
