give Skyrim more memory
So as far as i know, skyrim mainly crashes because it runs out of memory when scripts or objects or items or whatever accumulate until the game can't handle them and CTD

i also know that if you give skyrim more memory it can prevent those crashes to desktop. So does SKSE, or SSME from nexus.

the thing is, i still get the game crashing, and is not because of some specific incompatible mods, since if i stay in the same place for some time just dopping items or walking in circles it crashes

my questions is, can i give skyrim more memory to prevent crashes? i have 8GB ram and i think i have to spend more than skyrim takes of it

Try using the SKSE memory patch?

You may be using SKSE, but make sure you are also using the the patch as SKSE doesn't come with it.

SSME is outdated and has been replaced with a SKSE tweak. The most memory Skyrim can use 3.5 GB with this ini tweak. Do you use OneTweak it has dynamic resource priority as well as allowing you to run the game in windowed mode but it will show as full screen.

Ilja's SKSE, memory and skse.ini Guide:

Do you use LOOT to sort your load order? After running LOOT be sure to click on the button in the upper right that says "Sort" when hovered over, then click "Apply" once it appears.

It also may be the case that your game's master files has issues. Follow this guide to verify them.

It is a little outdated, use the guide provided.

yes i use LOOT, fine i`ll delete SSME and Safety Load. So, i will not use or do anything from here:
http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1340369-skyrim-memory-patch-fixing-ils-ugrids-ctd-freezes-for-real/

i will just do everything in here:
http://steamcommunity.com/app/72850/discussions/0/540740500921363665/

LATER EDIT: i`ve read all that guide about SKSE but found nothing new, so i`m not sure what can i do further to prevent random crashes

what's the big fuss about OneTweak? i like fullscreen Skyrim i don't see the reason why it should be windowed (even if shown as fullscreen)

Cool, for more on modding Skyrim that is up to date and actively maintained check out the pinned topic Player Spreadsheet. Following the information and links contained within will give you a stable modded Skyrim. By following the "best practices" as outlined in that thread my 170+ modlist is stable without any CTD after around 40 hours of gameplay. I can generally get 100-200 hours of play with no issues, at most 1 or 2 CTD's. :steamhappy:

Windowed mode uses less resources than standard full screen. Also, for an explanation of dynamic resource priority Ilja explains better then I;
Static priority processing reserves a certain amount of resources during schedule for program that is running. Programs with higher priority can gain more.

Dynamic processing releases and reserves resources, when the program needs them, according to priority in schedule. In this case Skyrim will gain higher priority than some other resource heavy background applications and gains higher priority for your computer resources.

Dynamic processing is usually considered as good thing for games, because background programs are often draining resources from them. It can be a bad thing for other types of programs, starving resources and preventing required background programs from running.

Skyrim is not so hungry that it would starve resources from any computer that meets the requirements. Thus having dynamic process priority just means that background programs cause less problems for it.

looked at that, is there something specific i should look at? i am not new to either skyrim or using mods in it, i have over 300 hours only on the official skyrim (i had also over 300 before i bought it on steam)

ok so i made this test: went into the basement of one of my houses, and started dropping there jewels. Lots of them. After dropping 300 amethysts and 200 diamonds, i went the some kind of limit. If i drop just one more jewel on the ground, the game CTD

to mention: dropped them one by one

You are overloading the games engine, it is just trying to draw to much at once! Every computer in the world will have it's limit of what it can do. You have found the outside edge of yours. LOL

Planning is the biggest part. You not only need to order your mods correctly, but you must also install them in the correct order. When I am planning a mod list I look at the mod's description, post and forums pages taking paper notes of installation, load order, compatible and incompatible as well as required mods. My current list has about 200 pages of notes!! SMIM is an excellent example of this, if you read description page closely you will see that installation matters just as much as load order. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8655/?

Unfortunately it not possible to just add the mods you like to Skyrim, you must do so in a systematic way that takes into account the things I listed in the last paragraph. I usually plan my next mod list while playing my current one! This way I am ready to add mods as soon as I finish the current play through!

yes, i also check the compatibility always at mods, but sometimes i get crashes, sometimes i don't, sometimes i get after 5 minutes, sometimes in 50, sometimes in a certian place, sometimes i don't get in that certain place

i think there is a mod or something which just creates data and creates constantly data which reaches a limit under some conditions and crashes my game after some time

That may well be, it is hard to determine which one though. Waht is the size of your current save file? Mine at level 19 is 9.6 MB, my last high level character, 81, was 19.8 MB much more than that and you have a problimatic mod.

Just you, LOL it does not change anything in game. That is a little large for a save. I believe one of your current or former mods is contributing to some minor save bloat. Have you removed any mods on this save?
sergykid Nov 11, 2015 @ 10:27am
i think i tried half of the nexus on this save xD

the save works good, it has not any problem about old or current mods, i know hot to install / uninstall them, i often run 4-5 hours straight sessions without any crash, it just happened recently. I just replaced unofficial patches with the legendary one (that merges them) and CoT to v5. Since now, i get a CTD almost every hour, and in Solsheim first time i installed USLEEP i had crash every 5 mins, now is ok
