Legacy of the Dragonborn...'s modding issues
After installing and re-installing Legacy of the Dragonborn multiple times, the game has gone from "Not having a museum" to "crashing on startup". I'm not sure how or why, just that I'd like to play my game, I'd like to try this cool mod, and at the very least I'd like a decent tutorial (with a mic that can record sound, first off, and no confusing technobabble second BUT SOME ACTUAL DETAILS PLEASE). Can anyone help figure out what I did wrong? I unzipped the files, put them in a folder, copied them to Skyrim in the Steam common directory, and it's just ruined everything.

You should be installing mods that are this complicated with an installer, not manually, preferably MO instead of NMM. Installing them manually means you risk updating them wrong and being unable to ever properly uninstall them without a reinstall of your whole game

My game crashes on startup.

If you currently have Moonpath the Elsweyr installed, I believe they're completely incompatible and will cause CTDs. It's one or the other afaik.

Nope. The only other mods I have that I can imagine causing issues with it wold be: Airship Dev Aveza. I only have two questmods and one of them i'm going to delete soon, the other is the Forgotten City so probs no incompatability there.

You need to post your load order and describe what you mean by 'start up' as that can mean different things to different people.

Also, did you actually do the troubleshooting provided in the guide above?

By "Start up" I mean that when I click the SKSE loader, the game blackscreens forever (until I Ctrl+Alt+Del). After looking through all the recommended programs, I found that LOOT couldn't find Skyrim (god knows why not) and Wyre Bash had so much technical jargon involved that the "fix" button's equivalent is invisible to me.

Are you using MO, NMM, or Manual?

LOOT, then Wrye Bash.

If MO, here's a good video for you:

The issue is that apparently I used "manual" because NMM wasn't an option (something about filesize). Also, LOOT was tried first and it didn't work.

It is simple install dragonborn gallery
1) First do not use an old save game. Always start a new fresh game (Legacy is Alternate start - Live Another Life compatible)
2) Download manually all all three Legacy Packs (if Pack3 is too large for you, download the 4 smaller multi part packs instead.
3) Using a ZIP file extractor (WinZip/7z,WinRar etc) Extract LegacyPack1, LegacyPack2, and LegacyPack3 into a new folder somewhere and rename that folder something like Legacy of Dragonborn or Dragonborn gallery.
4) Download and extract the current V14.11 update into the new folder and overwrite when prompted.
5) Repack all files from the new folder into a single archive file using your archive program (WinZIP, WinRAR, 7Zip, etc) naming the compressed file something like Legacy of Dragonborn
6) Download and install all compatibility patches provided. They should be loaded after the parent mod they are for and that mod loaded after Legacy
7) Now you are ready to install Legacy as a single compressed file using whatever manager you prefer (I`m using MO with TES5, Loot and Wrye Bash installed)
8) Remember: several mods are already incorporated into Legacy you do not need install them P.ex. Book Covers Skyrim, Moonpaths to Elswyre, Etc., and several others
9) Installing future updates is easy using Mod manager always choose overwrite/merge and not 'upgrade/replace' as you will lose many of the original core files.
10) Finally check your load order using Loot. The load order should always be something like this with other mods that Legacy supports and provides Compatibility for:
FIRST: Legacy single file install
SECOND: Supported Mod
THIRD: Legacy Supported Mod Compatibility Patch
11) make your patches like TES5EditMerged Patch and your Wrye bashed patch

Run the game from SKSE launcher

That has some steps I've enver tried before... I'll get on it.
