Mod Organizer - Overwrite? (TES5Edit Backups?)
..........................................
UPDATE:
..........................................

Okay. So I followed the tutorial llja linked. And I went into MO then the overwrite folder and deleted the stuff in there. Shut the pc down. etc etc. Problem fixed.

So then I pulled up Gamepoets video on how to run Tes5Edit with MO.

Something still isn't right.

I am getting this:

If you look at his video at 6:23 however, there is not supposed to be an "Update.esm" file above the Tes5Edit Backups folder.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i50wxDuEnn0

I did it just like he said...

So my question is this.... (After I fix this again by following llja's tutorial) Can I just run Tes5Edit outside of MO (following Gopher's video tutorial) ? And will that work? Will they still be cleaned as if I had done it with MO? Or will MO not recognize the clean files?

If I run Tes5 outside of MO (like in Gopher's video, JUST cleaning the files that he does in his video).... will that still work?

Will MO register that those particular ones (Dawnguard, Hearthfires, and Dragonborn, I believe they are) have been cleaned (from the video)?

Or do they need to be done IN MO somehow for them to be cleaned in the game?

Here is Gopher's vid...

I am not sure what to do with this...

If I am understanding this...this is an issue because the TES55Edit backups and the regular files above... are being read as the same files?

Is this because I ran TES5Edit from MO? Or did I not complete the task correctly??

I am sure it's something simple that I am missing, so what do I do?

Yes, you should not have run through TES5Edit through MO. Easiest thing is to verify master files to put them back and run TES5Edit without MO. Remember to do each file seperately, and do Dawnguard twice.

How do I "verify master files" to put them back?

Sorry should have included this in my last post.

Edit: just delete the stuff in the overwrite folder.

On the same note, LOOT says that my Skyrim, and the DLC's are dirty, even though all my mods are fine. Would you actually run the TES5edit to clean the game and DLC's?

I did not do this, the game runs fine, great actually. Why mess with trying to clean them, right?

Official master files are indeed uncleaned. Bethesda never bothered to clean them. This is a problem, if mods try to use those records. Read more about this from part "Cleaning Files with Tes5Edit."

if you run tes5edit outside of MO it will not register the mods being managed by MO. see for yourself.

Yes, that will work. That is the way I cleaned my master files. Then I copied the skyrim folder over to my storage drive in case I need to reinstall the game.
