Enhanced Lights and FX, Hardcore Esp.
On my previous games, dungeons were nearly pitch black, and i liked it that way. it added a kind of zelda-esque element where I needed a lantern on me at all times. But I must have changed something, because the dungeons are not nearly as dark anymore. Its still a bit darker than Vanilla, but still not at the level i want. Does anyone else have this problem?

You're about the 6th or 7th person I heard this from, that the new ELFX is actually brighter than the old, which is why I haven't touched it. What really sucks is that you don't even have the choice to go with an older version because the files are gone.

Was it updated recently or something? edit: i just checked, and it was updated on the 13th. What was changed? Im pretty sure i had installed the mod and had it working fine AFTER that date.

I can't tell you what was changed, but I can tell you that it was merged from multiple files and that the author states in the description that he darkened things a bit. Maybe he did if it's the only mode running, but I doubt he tested against ENB and other mods like CoT that do similar things.

Hmm... I am using ELFX with Phinix Natural ENB. I can't really say that it is bright, despite that I have brighter torch lights than vanilla. I personally like my game dark and spooky. It seems even darker with current ELFX.

I wonder why peoples are getting mixed results from the new version.

I just reinstalled, and something is definitely off. A dungeon that would normally be pitch black is only a little bit darker than vanilla. I dont know why this is happening.

Me too. I like to keep up on the core mods and I'd like to give this one a shot, but not if there's a 50/50 shot I'll have to undo and redo. Maybe I'll create a separate profile eventually for testing, but I really don't relish have to reproc everything in two separate profiles.

Why would you add a ReProccer mod for a test profile?

If you use Alternate Start, then use it to spawn in to a cave or dungeon location (like Vampire start). That should show you if ELFX is playing nicely, or if it is showing birght levels for you.

Because I use Real Shelter, which also plays with weather and it's just second nature to me to test the product as it is intended to be used in production. Dev builds almost never detail all possible problems/issues. :D

I am also using Real Shelter, but it uses TES5Edit script. Unlike SkyProc and Bashed Patch, RS does not need to be ran each time you change something, but only when you change mods related to it.

My weather mods are same with all profiles, so I am only redoing the patch after mod updates, or if my load order between weather system mods are changed radically.

Just had a thought, OP. Where's your gamma? It should be as low as possible, all of the way to the left. Sometimes we just forget second nature settings. :D

Brought down my brightness to zero, everything is now sufficiently dark :)

Bingo. THat was a real duh moment on my part. I wonder if the others are also gamma related.
