Storage in Skyrim is unlimited in any container. So while it may make more sense in the real world to have a room for storage, in Skyrim one barrel or chest can do it all for you.
The only reason I keep items in different barrels is to sort them. So that could be a reason to go with the storage room. If you want to have things sorted better, than the storage room may work for you.
yes and no, put too much in a single container and the game will slow to crawl when you open it. I decided to put everything in player chest in Breezehome and everytime I open it i'm watching a slide show. Better to spread it over more than one container.
All towers at Winstead Manor.
The rest at Heljarken hall. Or however its spelled.)
