Skyrim Not Detecting NVIDIA Graphics Card [HELP]
MSI 24GE All-in-one Gaming PC
Windows 10/x64
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M

===

Problem: Skyrim Launcher keeps detecting [Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600] instead of [NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M]

===

Solutions tried:

1) Going to NVIDIA Control Panel>Manage 3D Settings to assign the NVIDIA processoor for Global Settings and Program settings. Changed individual settings but still doesn't work.

2) Reinstalling NVIDIA driver. Uninstalled and reinstalled NVIDIA drivers for Windows 7,8,8.1 & 10, both old and new versions (347.88, 353.62, 365.19). Still doesn't work

3) Reinstalling Intel driver. Still doesn't work

4) Disabling Intel driver in BIOS. Ends up using Windows Basic Render Driver instead.

5) Manually changing RendererInfo & SkyrimPrefs.ini in notepad. Replaced [Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600] with [NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M]. Doesn't work. Game overwrites it upon launching. Same thing happens if both files are removed when launching.

6) Uninstall (delete local game files) Skyrim and reinstalling it. Still doesn't work.

Anyone has any idea how to solve this?

There was another post along the same lines as this. I can't remember the ,, well I do remember the answer but not how to tell you to get to it.

Something about settings and changing the preferred render methods or something. It fixed the other guys problem. Sorry not really being much help. Maybe IIja is still awake, he'll remember as I think he gave the fix.

Not the game settings, phuque getting old sucks, anotber few years and I'll forget my own damn name.
