Personally, I would argue that these ENBs are rather low-quality, not carefully considered, and just turned up to 11. I would also argue that ENBs that shoot for a particular look with considerations towards that theme in all facets, as well as tradeoff performance/pleasure wisely are of far higher quality.
To this end, I would recommend RealVision, Project, Seasons of Skyrim, all of which are fairly similar. And for others not particularly to my taste, Bleak, K ENB Pure Lights, Phinix Natural, Natural Lighting and Atmospherics. Bleak is probably the closest to Vanilla feel. K ENB and NLA are more JRPG/Fantasy themed, and Phinix is about as close as I can get to recommending a cinematic ENB.
I tend to like more closer to realistic ENBs, like the first three I mentioned above. Of those three, RealVision Lite is probably the best performer. Of the remainder, the only one I'm considering using is Bleak for a vampire playthrough, very appropriate in the gothic vampire sense.
That just sounds like a poorly optimized, buggy, broken, glitched, etc., etc. ENB. HOWEVER, if a ENB was SO graphically intense, so photorealistic that it actually kicked cards in teh balls, then that'd be something worth trying. Maybe that'd be elitist, but certainly an experience if you got the card. No doubt.
You simply described a balanced ENB trading off and balancing quality and performance.
B-but that ENB looks flippin pretty.... o_o
I use bleak tho...I think. It's probably not workin cause it don't look very bleak 2 me.
Nope, still not clear, sorry. "Best" is still completely subjective. Examples: let's say you MUST have lens flare and I abhor it. Any ENB I would consider "best" you wouldn't like and any ENB you would consider best, I wouldn't like. Which is better? The Corvette or the Silverado? Jump on the 'vette if you want, just don't drive it in the snow, or on a dirt track, or plan on hauling anything.
I listed the three I consider to be the best and gave an honorable mention to Bleak. RealVision and Project are about even in performance. Seasons of Skyrim is a bit less saturated and sometimes a bit more grim/darker. Bleak is the best, IMO, of the less saturated ENBs.
Tetrachromatic, for me, is... weirdish. It's got a lot of lean towards super-unrealistic ENBs like Poupourri. For me, especially for what it does to color and creating inconsistency of feel, it's not a very good ENB at all.
So, I repeat, what are you looking for in an ENB?
Also, I guess my overall question can be summed up more specifically as does Tetrachromatic potentially LOOK as good as RealVision, or is there a noticeable reduction in graphical appearance? Yes, yer right, some folks think things look bad, and other things are annoying, the key word I added is potentially. So, from what I gather, Tetra looks very colorful, cinematic, and has lots of effects, maybe too many for your taste? Thanks for the info so far.
Vids entirely are dependent on the author's rig, graphics settings, and extra mods. I aint sure, as I dont watch many, but I think even the frame rate and resolution is scaled down. They dont work for me. Thanks for teh info though.
some people will say it looks better, some will say it looks worse. we are going in a circle here as it all comes down to personal taste...and to add something more constructive: PERSONALLY i prefer m-enb over tetrachromatic, because it is too colorful at times for me. g&s vaermina is also great in my book.
The only way for you to know is to try it.
You did mention Lens Flare, pretty basic effect I assume is also in Tetra. Fair to assume you may potentially think it has too many effects. Anyways, to not go around in circles, this is the info I was after. I will try out Tetra, never have tried a fantasy/cinematic ENB before.
Thanks for teh info everyone.
